Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to seek some advice from all of you knowledgable jewellery/diamond experts if possible?
I turned 40 last week and was very lucky to receive the Tiffany DBTY 0.28 diamond studs in platinum. When I received them, one of them had a very crooked post and was slanted over, it was very obvious so they were returned and exchanged for another pair of the same carat weight etc. unfortunately I don't live near a Tiffany store (although one is opening later this year) and hence all this was done via mail order over the phone to a store in another location in Australia.
Today I have received the earrings and although not as bad as the first pair, to my eyes they are still crooked! The SA had assured my husband these ones were perfectly straight.
Am I being unreasonable to think these should be straight?
My husband had emailed the tiffany SA yet again today at my request to seek advice but I guess I was interested to see what you all thought?
Many thanks in advance!

That looks VERY crooked to me. So much so that I can't imagine what the first pair looked like. I would have it changed and just be a LITTLE sharper in tone. If the earring bends with you afterwards that's a different story but these are new! Tiffany's needs to do better and respect your time and money!

Ahh I literally just breathed a sigh of relief,I was starting to think I was being ridiculous! In the photo I have tried to capture it so the "lean" is most obvious, depending on which way they stand it does change a little, sometimes not as obvious though.
The first pair I could see one was crooked before I even stood it face down like that, this pair not so much, can't really tell unless they are sitting like that, but it still doesn't seem right to me and is bothering me. I know they won't be sitting like that on their ends like... Ever!, but still it's bugging me. I put them in my ears and when I scrutinised them in the mirror I thought I could tell which one was the crooked one, sure enough, took them out and bingo... I was right.

I wouldn't doubt that you could tell tell the difference in your ear. I imagine it would affect how well it sits. This is an important piece and one you'd probably wear a lot. And platinum is not cheap! It looks very slanted to me. What a nuisance to you though. Don't let it affect your gift though. Maybe a front pic so we can admire how pretty it is?

Is it possible that this is the same pair you originally returned? Perhaps they attempted to straighten them?
Request an exchange because if you are bothered enough to post here about it, it's a real issue for you.

Thankyou all so much! I just knew you would be with me on this, but at the same time I was worried I was overreacting.
I did actually consider the fact they may have just sent me the same pair back, maybe a bit of a quick (terrible) attempt at fixing them, who knows. The SA had said initially when my husband contacted her about the first pair, that she had 2 other pairs in stock and had put one away for us... But I'm just not sure, it's all just off and I'm not happy.
Just trying to decide whether to exchange again or refund, to be honest I'm very disappointed. I have other Tiffany pieces and love them (including engagement/wedding rings) but this is really turning me off.

Update....
Well we decided to give tiffany one more chance and the third pair has now arrived and are straight, phew. Here's a pic.... I am happy with this pair, they just appear to be better made than the last two pairs, if that's possible, and they also seem extra sparkly :) in re sizing the photo it's not very clear though, sorry.
Thanks to all who assisted with my dilemma, and here's to straight posts!
