Advice needed: Are Tahitian pearl studs for daily wear?

I just bought a pair of Tahitian pearl studs and have only worn them once for Valentine's Day. I've been itching to wear them again and was only planning on wearing them again for a Hawaiian cultural event in the summer. But that's soooo far away from now.

Is it too faux pas to wear Tahitian pearl studs on a regular day or shall I say daily basis? Tahitian pearls tend to be bigger, mine are 8mm. So would it be too overwhelming?

nah.. just watch out for hair products on the pearls.. if you have them why not flaunt off that lovely color!

Pearls (of any kind) are perfect for daily wear. Super traditional people recommend "diamonds after dark" but pearls are fine whenever.

That's a quaint little saying that I'd never heard before. Thanks for sharing.

I was told that body oils are actually good for pearls so it is okay to wear them everyday. That may not be true, but a jeweler told me that so I do wear mine a lot. I was also told that they should be the last thing one puts on when getting dressed....after the cosmetics, hairspray, perfume, etc. so that the chemicals don't get on the pearls (as they can ruin them).

I wear 13 mm Tahitian earrings every day. I think it is a classy and more unique alternative to white pearl studs.
