Adults Only subforum?

I am pretty sure they have a valid reason behind what they close and what they don't. I also think you never know who is serious and who is a troll some of the time. As Swanky mentioned, first and foremost this is a purse board. I am sure there are boards dedicated just to sex. (Normal boards, with normal people)/ Also, if you branch this off to various sex talk, acts, it may lead down a path that isn't appropriate. You have to have a cut off somewhere.
Yep. Remember there was a discussion on the Health and Fitness sub forum about being (physically) intimate on a first date and there was a massive influx of trolls who were saying DISGUSTING things. I think that time Prada's Meadow had to stay up till 4am dealing with them!
Yeah I agree. With some of what had already been posted, I'm sure the Google-ers may have found their way here by now.
I'm also sure there would be trolls even worse than what TPF has encountered in the past, these ones getting their jollies from harassing innocent people and posting disgusting things on the board.
same here! But I still think there should be some kind of statement as to what is too far. For example...I definatly thought that the b***hole thread was
but I didnt think the one about penis size was bad and it got closed, unless it started to get out of control at the end and I didnt notice. So there needs to be some kind of mutual understanding of what is too far 
The things we discuss aren't too graphic though. I don't think they were too horrible... but then again I haven't seen all the "graphic" threads so I could be wrong.
Why not make a private adults only forum (like the MP) where you had to sign an agreement that you were over 18 and ok with potentially explicit content? A minimum post count could be in effect.. and if it's private it wouldn't show up in google searches..
I think they have pretty much hammered this to death. They don't want an adult subforum. You can't prove someone is 18 or not. How are you going to make sure that who you are letting in is in fact old enough. There is no way of knowing. Beside the fact that they started this as a purse forum and as Amanda pointed out, everything else is gravy. Hope this helps.
Hey I was just posting my suggestion. And this is the "feedback/suggestions" forum, and as of yet neither Megs or Vlad have chimed so right now it's just going back and forth..... I am interested to see what Megs/Vlad have to say.
Also -- you have to be 18 to be in the MP right? So same thing??
I know you were posting it, as you are allowed to do as you like. The whole thread is the poor mod going back and forth explaining why it isn't going to happen. Actually several mods talk about why they are not going to have one. Merely posting back to your question, which is redundant. Beating a dead horse

I agree that we don't need an adult sub-forum on here. This is a purse forum afterall and the MP is directly related to purses. It seems kind of over the top to be creating another strictly moderated private subforum for a topic that has nothing to do with purses.
I think if a good number of people really want to discuss sex topics with fellow tPFers, someone could just take charge and create their own board (like on a myspace group or something) and spread the word amongst members in here, if Megs & Vlad are okay with that. I totally understand why some would feel more comfortable discussing these issues with tPF girls rather than with random members on a generic sex forum. The problem with a separate board though is that it may just be too much trouble and not many people will actually join or participate

I totally understand why some would feel more comfortable discussing these issues with tPF girls rather than with random members on a generic sex forum. Personally, I don't mind talking about/reading about sexual subjects on here at all and I also think that it's far better that young people come on here and read the fairly measured comments most of us make, rather than going to other sites, where the content may be far more unsuitable for their age group.
However, whilst I agree that this forum has become sooooo much more than just a bag forum, I also feel that an adults only subforum (private or not) is probably too specialised an option to be considered an urgent priority; especially if it would create problems and/or a lot of extra work for the admins and mods.
If this was a health and fitness, or relationships, forum, I think it would make perfect sense to have a private subforum of that type, as to not have one and to disallow explicit conversations about sexual matters, might make it seem rather limited; but as others have said, it's not, it's a bag forum.
TBH, I'm a bit confused as to why, mostly female (I assume?) members of a fashion forum (of any type) would feel the need to talk about sex in overly graphic terms and/or to use explicit words, anyway?

Personally I thought reading the thread on size that was closed that some of the posts were quite vulgar and I don't see the need for it on here.
