Hi Ladies!

I have a question regarding the strap on the Town and I would appreciate your expertise clearing up my confusion. Did the strap change in recent models of the Town? If so how and since when? I am looking to buy a town on Ebay and would like to know if the 2010 strap is the old or new version and how the two differ. Thank you!!

Thanks! I'm 5'3". Do you think the non adjustable strap would look ok for my height? I wonder if it might be better to get the adjustable version? I read somewhere that it's still too long. I hope someone has the measurements for each of the straps. I'm curios as to what the difference us exactly.

I had my strap shortened and I feel much more comfortable with it now. I am about your height. I have tried the "new" strap and it is not adjustable enough for me. I don't really like it.

Thanks! Where can I get it shortened? Do I do a search under "cobbler"? Sorry' I'm clueless. I've read somewhere about having a cobbler shorten it but have no clue where to find one. Didn't think there were cobblers anymore...

In my area a "cobbler" is a shoe repair place - they are ususally in strip malls, sometimes in enclosed malls -

If there are no shoe repair areas - sometimes cleaners that deal in leather coats and such will have someone that does repairs.

You need to find a really reputable cobbler or a leather specialist who makes their own handbags and belts, etc. Someone who really knows what they're doing or you may just get a "cut and glue" on the ends that looks all wrong. It's tricky to get it to look right the way the
ends are finished.

I know the strap became adjustable in 2012, not sure if it was s/s or f/w though. I have a 2012 f/w cumin town with the new strap and on the shortest adjustment I still think its a tad too long. I'm 5'5" but I have really short legs :curses: so I'm sure my height (in terms of strap drop) is comparable to you. I think the strap works really well double looped at this adjustment though!

What a good idea with the double loop! Fantastic boots...

I've seen them tpfers do something I didn't understand at all with the mini pompon strap, you'd have to do a search. Let me know when someone figures it out...

Found these instructions by Dragonette... I'd need a YouTube demo though...

phoebe, I'm not sure how to describe the process to you but it started from the right, goes to the left, around the metal clasp (you have to do a lot of wiggling to get the button through the clasp, poke the round end in first and wiggle/press until the rest of it goes though), under the leather shoulder pad to the right again, go around the leather loop, back through the shoulder pad, go around the other leather loop on the left and tuck inside the shoulder pad to end off.
