Hi all! I have a LV belt that my husband bought me many years ago that I never wore. Now I would like to wear it, but the size only fits me on the very last hole and a bit tighter than I'd like. I would like to add a hole (or two) so I can wear it different ways. I called Louis Vuitton and they said they don't add holes. So, my question is...would you bring it elsewhere to have done...like a cobbler, or even do yourself with a leather belt tool? My husband says no as it would be modified, but I figure, I don't plan on selling it, so no harm? What would you do? It's damier with the LV initial, not reversible. Thanks!

I will go to a cobbler and let them do it. You already have it for many years why not make do it. In that case you will use it more often. I am also planning to put more holes on my speedy strap coz i want it more higher but lv dont do it. So im thinking to go to a cobbler to do it. Since im not planning to sell any of my bags.

I too would also go to a reputable cobbler, one who just does it right in front of you.
A good one will tell you what hole sizes they have available and if they can match the original sizes of the holes on the belt.

I have a Dior belt that needed an extra hole. I first went to Dior and they had to send it to their workshop which took like 2-3 weeks. I later needed another hole punched in the same belt and this time I went to a cobbler who was known for working on various luxury shoes, belts and bags.
He let me know ahead of time that none of his hole punchers had the exact same size as the original but I was fine with that and he did it then and there.

My previous CA punched extra holes for my one of my old Damier belt after I slim down , and on another new belt that I need to wear it with dress and pants , so I need more holes towards the shorter side . But when I bought another same design belt in another colour and I wanted extra holes, my current CA told me their company had took back their puncher and does not allowed them to punch for client anymore.
I haven’t send the newer belt to cobbler, but I think you should , since you are not planning to sell the belt, rather than just keeping it in the drawer

I've had mine done at the cobbler while I was standing right there. The cobbler is one that is near my local LV store.
