Great advice to ask before you buy.
I have asked after the fact, lol, for the 5-motif bracelets and was told not to worry, they are made sturdy, but I’d love to hear if someone has heard otherwise, as I want the safety chain, lol.

Truly the bangles are quite sturdy and the clasps are tight. Unless you’re doing some super active stuff and will bang it a lot regularly I think it would be very difficult to actually break the clasp.

I'm quite clumsy and talk with my hands all the time. The clasp on both 5 motif and 6 motif seem very sturdy thus far, I wouldn't worry about it. But you can ask your SA anyway, even at a fee, if it buys you the peace of mind then it's all worth it.

Has anyone added a safety chain to their van cleef bracelets, PerLee bangle or Alhambra bracelet Watch? Do you know if that’s something they will do for you?
Ask your SA to verify prior to purchase. I had a different modification done to a recent purchase and my original request was no longer possible, but had been in the past. I agree that a safety chain is not needed; the Perlee for example already has a two-step release mechanism.

I vote no on safety chain.
First, the bangles already have a double-lock as @nicole0612 stated.
The 5 motif bracelet is a lobster claw, and lobster claws are super sturdy due to their curved design. The only thing you need to do when you put it on is to be sure to do a visual check that you actually hooked it properly through claw.

That said, my main reason for saying no to a safety chain is the piece now looks like cheap mall jewelry.
Truly fine jewelry does not have a cheap safety chain hanging. Jewelry should be a work of art, especially luxury brands such as VCA.

To me, a safety chain cheapens the look of the piece, as if it was so poorly made. On top of a bad look, you now also risk that flimsy safety chain getting caught in something.

Just my thoughts here on safety chains and fine jewelry. Not needed at all, and a big no in terms of aesthetic.

I think you're best to check it out in person to gauge how secured the closure is on the watch, everyone's perception of a secured closure may be different. That way you can also check with the SA about the customization options on the closure to make it extra secured, or they can check with the SM or corporate on the existing requests that the clients have made on this particular model. I'm just not certain that you'll get the answer you need from this forum in order to make an informed decision because there may be clients who've asked for a safety chain or other more discreet options but are not tpf members. For the price you're willing to pay for the watch, you should be fully enjoy wearing it without a single worry. With that said, accidents do happen and there's always a tiny chance of a faulty clasp, but unless you're stuck on a roller coaster I'd think you'll be able to feel and catch the watch coming loose/off right when it happen.

Here is the watch clasp that worries me but it may distort the aesthetic if a safety chain is added? It is such a beauty!
Absolutely agree with you that a chain would totally change the vibe of the watch. Aesthetics are so important to VCA. Even it’s clasps on high jewelry are hidden. My gut says the last thing they would want is a random chain hanging from a piece. I know I could totally be wrong as I have never asked. So for your own peace of mind you probably should get it from the horse’s mouth. But a chain would totally change it, to me. And as @BigAkoya said, it could get caught on things which could result in, though unintended, even more risk of damage. By all means check out the watch. Hold, feel, work with the closing mechanism. Ask VCA. But if it is not to your satisfaction I would pass on it and move on to another piece that will pass your mental security test. As an aside, I bought a Rolex two years ago and the last was loose. It actually caught on a sweater and popped open. I took it back to Rolex and they said sorry, that’s just the way it is. I sucked it up. I love that watch so I have to check it periodically. Not saying that’s what you should do. Just be true to your needs are.
