Adding a long strap to the Chanel Shearling Reissue bag - how?

Hello ladies!

I own this purse (in black) that has a short chain.
I can wear it double or simply, but even the simple way is short for wearing a cross body.
I would need a chain 30-40 cm longer. Is there a solutin how to add a part of chain or belt?

I also thought of adding a black leather strap - secondary strap. Than the chains would hang loosely down the sides of the purse. But the look...

Has anyone dealt with the same problem?
Or saw the solution?
Any idea?
