Ack! I just bought a vintage Kelly!

Well congratulations. Your vintage looks to be in good shape and why don't you carry her around a bit before sending her off for repairs - though doesn't look like she needs much. Hermes will tell you what needs to be fixed eg handle, or corners or if she's is good condition they might tell you not to waste your time. I agree that you can reference docride's thread for some home care as that might suffice instead of sending her away.

if there's no problem no need to send it to the spa.

i have a vintage rouge H box kelly that has some scratches and faded areas esp at the corners but i took it to a local (but very good) leather repair specialist.

Now it's amazing!

Congrats on your gorgeous and classic kelly!!!

You are one lucky girl! I've been trying to find mine for ages but no luck! So happy there are people out there who thinks the same. Congrats on your find! I am so envious!

Yes! Enjoy your bag before spa, and the Doc treatment on box can go a long way...I have never spa'd my box Bolide because Docride treatment made it look so good.

There is nothing like a vintage BBK! I much prefer them over new ones. She looks lovely - I would hold off on spa unless there are issues we can't see.

Congrats! It's easier for you young ladies to find a K from your birth year! It's close to impossible for an oldie like me to get it from my birth year. Congrats and hope to see mod pics soon!
