Hi everyone. Would anyone know any info on how come some mini lady dior‘s have a chain strap and some have a skinny leather strap? I thought maybe the older models came with the leather straps and the newer models with the chain, but my friend bought an all black matte mini last year and it came with a leather strap so I was confused.

Some styles come with the chain strap, and some with the leather strap. It is what the design team determined was appropriate for the design.
The original mini Lady Dior came with a non-adjustable leather strap, but that no longer exists, as the leather straps now are adjustable.
It depends on the model of the purse. If you're uncomfortable with a thin leather strap, you can buy a chain strap separately.
