I am new to Goyards and haven't been able to find a lot online about how to tell a fake from a real one. My question is in regards to the stitching colors. I understand that on black on black bags the stitching color is black and that on any other color it is always white; correct? What about on the black bags with tan/natural leather trim and handles? Is the stitching both white on the leather and on the black of the bag? OR is it white stitching on the leather and black on the black part of the bag? Please explain. If someone has a black/tan bag and can add a pic that would be helpful.
Thanks
Also, do any stores sell Goyards in Chicago?

On black/tan, I believe that white stitching is used on the tan leathers, and black used on the canvas parts. Someone who has black/tan will need to confirm this though.

No authorised Goyard retailers in Chicago.

The only American Goyard boutique is in San Francisco. Barney's Manhattan also carries Goyard. I'd look online at photos and the price list on TPF and then call the boutique in San Francisco. You will not be taxed if you order from a different state (although I've heard they actually charge for shipping on such expensive bags, about $40).
