Hmmm... he is kinda hunky these days. Always bothered me that he was 18 when he started dating his now wife who was 42 at the time. Ick.

I thought Idris Elba would have made a good Bond.

I thought it was gonna be Lashana Lynch next? I guess they just chickened out of making him a black woman after the last few were flops.

IDK I don’t really care what colour he is and hell a woman might make it an Interesting spin but BOND is meant to be HOT. No offence to this man but I don’t think most people see RED HOT sex appeal like you do with Pierce or Sean or Timothy.

Bond feels entitled because he’s hot and cos he’s hot gets away with being a massive dick! How did they miss the 2 central points of the character?

They missed the boat with Idris- they probably think he’s too old now. (Though Roger Moore was ancient for most of his films and I’d like to see them continue the tradition by having Idris in a safari suit and floppy toupee fistfight Christopher Walken)
I really think they should’ve got Idris in when Daniel Craig started complaining during like the 2nd film of his contract and honestly they’d have probably spent less on bailing him out of the deal than they did on reshoots and rewrites.

I’m glad Daniel Craig is gone though. He started good but he just doesn’t have the big personality to lift the boring, dour material and visuals so he just seemed like moaning myrtle by the end. It was like the opposite problem they had with Roger Moore where the material was just too silly and he was so miscast as a Machiavellian seducer but his charisma made it fun.

I think it's very difficult to cast James Bond, and I don't think that AT-J is quite right for the role. I've not seen him in anything, to be fair, but I just don't get the feeling of "yes" about him as JB. I think he's slightly too young and a bit boyish for the role. Bond has seen/experienced a lot in life and that needs to reflect in his demeanour and character.

My favourite was Roger Moore.....he didn't take it too seriously and, as @Bagatha Christie says, his charm and charisma made him very watchable. He was exceedingly suave, a trait missing these days.

Out of the names mooted, I agree that Idris Elba would have been a very good choice, if he had been interested but I don't know if he was?

Perhaps also Henry Cavill? I've not seen him in anything, either, but he has presence.

Also, it depends on the script. It's not cool having an obviously large age gap between the male lead and the female interest but perhaps there will be less of that in the new material.

I thought they were talking about Richard Madden. rumored past relationships with Brandon Flynn and Froy Gutierrez (Richard could be bisexual!), but I think he did extremely well on Citadel. Very Bond-ish performance.

I feel like they could’ve signed Idris on for 1 or a ‘special bond’ movie because he’s been talked about by the fan base for years.

Bond doesn’t have to be young especially given they were banging on about how old Craig Bond is through the films. I dunno why they are just so resolute on refusing to give the fans what they wants.
No colourful palettes! No jokes! Absolutely no charismatic, handsome male lead! He is miserable and you should be too!!
