AAAaaarrg! Maxi came and is TOO Big on ME!

Hi ladies,

The maxi arrived on Friday and I couldn't post pics due to storms and loss of electricity. I LOVE the bag, it's beautiful . . . but I wanted to wear with the chain long/single chain style. I am fairly tall, 5'7, and the Maxi doesn't look right on me this way. I know that the jumbo looks good this way because I tried on a caviar in the past. I kept looking at the bag and wishing it would work (this bag is so gorgeous) then this morning I tried it on again hoping I was wrong, but it's just not working for me. I called and she found 1 black lamb jumbo:yahoo: I am now switching the maxi for the jumbo.

I will take photos before I send the Maxi back and post them so you all can see the size difference in the chain and in the bag. The Maxi is fabulous when worn short/ double-strap. This large size Chanel flap is decadent and sexy and looks like the bag of a very lucky & spoiled girl!!!, but I'm not loving it with the single strap on my size frame.

I am also considering getting a WOC too! Thanks to the evil influence of that little gorgeous WOC specialist Dinitegrity (I told you all, I'm a J U N K I E for Chanel now!):P

I know what you mean, I think Chanel is making an AWFUL lot of money thanks to all those gorgeous WOCs in that thread! I hope dinitegrity is on commission :graucho:

Sorry to hear the maxi did not work out for you, but I'm glad you are able to swap it for one that will!

OP, sorry to hear that the maxi was too big for you but I'm really glad that you were able to get a jumbo. Looking forward to seeing you reveal/mod pics. :smile:

Aw, sorry to hear the maxi wasn't for you. Although, I am happy to hear that you will be switching it out for the jumbo! I'm curious to see how the maxi looks on you as I am also 5'7" and was considering the maxi as well!

Here's the main problem, when I wear the Maxi with jeans and single strap the bag hangs out around the rivet on the jeans pocket and I am afraid that the rivet will scratch up the lambskin. Does that make sense?

The bag size is crazy awesome when worn double strapped. It looks more chic than you can imagine :nuts: But I had hoped to be able to wear it with one long strap the most since my daily "uniform" is skinny jeans and heels. I thought it would look more casual to wear with the strap long and double it up for dressier times when I'm in a suit or a dress for meetings with clients etc.

I am going out to dinner with friends tonight, but I WILL take photos and post when I get home TONIGHT! So that you can see the size.

Am I the only one that has this copper rivet problem?

no way! maxi lamb is the best! i do not think it can be worn single strap tho, for exact reasons you point out. unless you always wear long sweater, jacket or tunic... even so it's my favorite bag!!! it wears so well double strap. but to each her own. good luck!

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I love the maxi size and I am 5'9! I have 2 and love wearing them double and single strap. I don't wear a lot of jeans though so that might be the difference. I am more of a dresses, skirts, suits kind of gal so it works perfect for me. Good Luck with the jumbo!

That Maxi is so gorgeous! Too bad I can't afford both....

LOL, Bobochic, I am really sorry to hear that on you.. You are standing at 5"7, that is like so tall!!! :nuts: But if you really think that Maxi do not fit you, then yeah of course I am all there to support your change to the smaller Jumbo size.. For me, I am a shortie at 5"3, I think Jumbo is too heavy for me, ends up I give it up... Is always better to find a bag that suits you, your frame and most importantly you must like it!!
I am so glad you may get a WOC.. It is just so super functional!! Can't express enough of my love for it...

I think you should keep the maxi! The length of the maxi can be shortened!! There is a thread showing various methods of doing so. Am on iPhone so a little difficult to search and post the link!

I'm so sorry that the Maxi did not work for you! I would love to see some pics though.

I agree with Jaded, that you might consider shorten the strap of the Maxi to wear with single strap. However, a Jumbo would def. work. I'm 5"9 and the Jumbo does not look out of proportion on my frame. GL deciding!
