I had already planned a quick trip to New York to see a show, so when I realized it as also the anniversary of my weight loss it seemed like a sign to splurge on something I had been looking at for a while...
And by looking at, I mean staring at endlessly online at the Tiffany's site. At the store in SCP. Online at other places.
Stacking them over and over and over, to see which one I liked the best.
In my head, buying it at 5th Avenue was way more special than going to SCP, even though that's the store where I've bought all of my pieces before. Even though it's several thousand miles closer and all.
For better or for worse, the day we were going shopping was also free silver polishing day *AND* their Rubedo event. I refused to think about not going, so we pushed ahead after stopping at my favorite bakery for cookies to bring home (37 hours in New York, Levain-Tiffany-Newsies, check!).
It was one of the best shopping experiences I've ever had at Tiffany's, and that includes the time the salesman remembered me after 18 months when I bought my DBTY necklace (the 50lbs lost treat). The salesman was kind and patient while I considered, he offered his opinion and we had a great discussion about the the store itself. After I finally decided on the Jazz Band, we did a little Birkin spying, had a refreshing beverage and left feeling taken care of...until we ventured into silver land, which was HOPPING.
But? Best morning EVER! And I'm already thinking about another ring to start my own stack.
