Sooooo...

I wanted something special for my 40th. At first we looked around and were thinking about a Chopard Happy Diamonds...or something from Cartier. But nothing was really standing out to me.

I had a Jaeger Reverso with a pink alligator band and I really couldn't find a face that I liked more than that. We decided to first replace the pink band with metal.

Phase I of the birthday present...complete. And on to the next...a very special addition!

There are only one or two artists in the United States that do engraving for Jaeger.

At first we considered having him do my initials, but honestly that seemed too "boring" and pedestrian, especially since he is such an amazing artist. He has engraved pictures of people's hunting dogs, and a Nobel prize winner's medal...so we started thinking...hmmmm....what should we do?

Finally we decided on this picture, a Vargas of the goddess Diana with her hunting dogs. We are both mythology geeks and also dog lovers, so this was perfect.

Finally, after two months of waiting, it came today, ON my birthday.

It. Is. Amazing.

My pics just don't do it justice. This is a piece I probably want to be buried with, because no niece is worth this! :D
