As many of you know I bought and fell in love with the silver metallic clutch with the big flower on it. When I got it I noticed a few scratches on it and I carried it for a few hours and it just seemed all you had to do was look at it and it scratched more! I sent it back today (with a heavy heart) but for some reason it did not make sense to keep something so expensive that would be ugly IMO in no time. Its a beautiful bag..but the leather..ugh....just FYI!! I am not one to return anything so it was quite the process for me.

Awwww, sorry to hear that it didnt work out for you Sunshine

Yea, it's definitely not worth it to keep something that will keep get damaged so easily. You'll find something else in no time!

Was it lambskin? Perhaps you could have sent it to be cleaned by Chanel and they put a protectant on the leather

I think my feeling on that is for $1700 I want to carry it for awhile before I have to start having it protected, or cleaned etc...especially with an evening bag (only)...I know I will find something else...I almost thought that perhaps the python would be more user friendly!

I definitely couldn't handle something that delicate. I would freak out if I thought an evening out would get it scratched to death. Try a python - they aren't bad. And extremely light!

I'm w/ ya Sunshine. . . it'll be a while before I delve into lambskin.
Python? Now you're speakin' my language!

I'm with you, it would make me crazy to think I was going to have to see new marks each and every time I used a bag so good call on sending back (but I know what you mean I am typically a keeper not a returner so that is automatic stress for me to have to take something back and/or complain that it's not as it should be!) But in the long run you will find something you love even better that doesn't need quite so much coddling. Enjoy the hunt!
