I'm thinking of buying a bag from the UK site and having it sent to my parents in England (I don't live there but what I want isn't available where I am; I'd pick it up when I visit home in a couple of months).

The website says "complimentary customs-free shipping" so I assume that means no extra import fees even if it comes from France? (I haven't ordered EU to UK since Brexit.)

I'm more confused by: "Official photo ID is required for all delivery methods: accepted forms of ID are UK or international passport, UK driving license or EU ID card". So the delivery person would ask to see one of these? Would it have to have my name on? (Obviously I won't be there.) Or would I have to address it to one of my parents and hope they are the one home when it comes? Or it doesn't matter, they just keep a record of whoever accepted the parcel?

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I've never shown ID to get a delivery before and I don't want to make it complicated for my parents. (Also don't want to let on it's from LV, they would not approve ).

I’ve placed a few orders online and I live in the UK. All items comedirect from France, delivery is complimentary at no extra charge, no import charges. They’ve all been delivered by UPS, had no issues.
Upon delivery you do have to show some form of ID, driving license or passport. Usually I’ve been home to grab these items before hubby gets home lol. But on one occasion he answered the door and though the parcel had my details, my husband provided his driving license as ID which was excepted without any questions.
So you might get away with your parents accepting the package as long as one of them provides their ID and not, but please double check with client services.
On the point of hopefully they won’t know what’s in the package…..well up to 2020 my parcels were very discreet, no mention on address label that it was from LV. But to my horror since 2021, all my packages came with an invoice plastered over the package with ‘Louis Vuitton’ looked like a photocopy invoice. None to happy but have had no issues nothing missing or anything untoward. I don’t know if that has happened to anyone else, but yes, my parents too would have a heart attack at the thought of spending so much money!!!

Thanks for the heads up! I think I’m going to go for it and if they realise what’s in the package I’ll tell them I’m ordering for a friend because the items are limited editions that are sold out here and cheaper in the UK anyway. It’s true except from the friend part lol.

That’s exactly what I would’ve said lol! I’m sure all will be ok and hope you get your pieces.

Well I've been outed already because my payment failed and my parents got a call from my bank about fraud. Which really was completely understandable because I had to use my UK account and I've never used it to make any purchase like this. I get really nervous about calling the bank for anything in case they twig I haven't lived in the UK in years, because I don't *think* I'm supposed to have a regular current account if I'm not a resident, but I had a lovely woman unblock it and my order has now gone through! Let the lying commence lol.

I requested my daughter in London to buy an item that wasn’t available in my region, she ordered online because it she was busy with schoolwork at that time, LV sent her the item using Temis Luxury Delivery, which I think is very safe
