Hi hi. Need some advice. Someone lent me a jewellery magnifying glass and I realised that there is a piece of yellow diamond among the white diamonds of my tiffany key pendant. It's supposed to be all white diamonds, so I brought it back to tiffany and I'm very happy that they are willing to replace a brand new piece for me, even though it's been a year already. However, my husband said yellow diamonds being more rare and more expensive, I shd keep the existing one....Does that make sense? If...let's say if....I want to resell it one day, does the "odd" one fetch more than full white diamonds? I asked 2 tiffany SA this and they refused to say....only that I have to make that decision myself.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I doubt it would be worth more with one tiny yellow diamond amongst a sea of white diamonds. In fact, I feel like having 1 different coloured diamond would put people off buying it. I'd get it replaced.

I doubt it would make a difference unless you plan on selling the diamonds loose in the future :p in which case you might get more for the yellow diamond - assuming that is what it is, as opposed to a lower colour grade white diamond.

Hi hi. Here's 2 pic of my pendant and where the yellow diamond is. The tiffany SA confirm it is yellow diamond. They were very helpful and immediately transfered a brand new piece as it was out of stock. I think they also acknowledge that it's more of a 'fault' than unique, as they transferred a new piece even before I made up my mind!

I actually really like this, but if it'll drive you nutters, definitely let Tiffany replace it.

If you have any notion of resale I'd replace it because I can just see an authenticator saying "This piece must have been worked on after purchase as Tiffany would *never* let such an item pass through their hands," when clearly they would and they did.

However I'd cherish a Tiffany yellow diamond, even a melee stone, any way I could get into my collection.

Thank you all, for your comments and suggestions. Appreciate all of your inputs! I kept looking at it for a few days and the more I looked the more I wanted to change it. Which I just did today! Now I've got a "perfect" piece and I am very happy with it! Guess I'm in a mood for "perfection" than "uniqueness" 😆. One SA said they are supposed to check all pieces when the stock arrives, this piece somehow missed their eyes *my eyes rolling*, and obviously the SA shd also chk it when making the sale. Somehow everyone missed it. Even the original artisan who made this piece!?! But the good thing is they immediately offered to change it without second thoughts. I dun have the intention to sell it, it's just I dun like the idea that I've gotten an inferior product when we paid full price for it. Anyways now I'm very happy with my "new" present! Feels like another early Xmas gift 😉.
