A newbie. What do you have to go through when you buy your first birkin/kelly?(desc.)

This is my guess.

I put my name on a waiting list and choose the bag that I want ( the style, hardware kind, leather kind, and color ) wait for 2 years or so and get called by hermes and receive my bag. ( newbie here pls understand my dumbness :confused1::sweatdrop::shrugs::sweatdrop::confused1:

But I have LOADS of questions:

When you wait for your hermes bag, does the price increase affect it?

Are podium orders like customized bags?

Does it really take more than 2 years to get a birkin/kelly?


I do not understand the FAQs because they are quite complicated. Sorry! :crybaby:

I am completely confused on the steps to getting a birkin. I even do not know what is a podium order....or an Idea of what it is.

Hi MS.Piggy. Yes, I did recently read those threads especially the Podium one. I could not understand the podium order process because it was complicated. The first thread didn't give out if a price increase would affect a waiting list and give out what actually happens in a waiting list. Thanks.

The price you pay will be the price at the time your bag arrives, not the price when you order the bag, so yes you will most likely be paying for a price increase or two.

Sorry am a newbie also..

I heard alot about being able to get a Birkin or Kelly in Europe etc, if in luck. Aren't those meant for waitlist customers?

In SG, my SA told me Birkins and Kellys are allocated by the management. Hardly any one off shelves.. =( And the wait is at least 3-4 years for normal custs. Faster if we bought alot of stuff from them.
