Hello ladies,
I just browsed all posts I wrote in past 4 years another day and I couldn't believe myself. I used to be crazy for Louis Vuitton during teenage years. I gradually adored Chanel in past 4 years. When Martha Steward carried her Birkin to Court defending herself in 2003 and all the press outcried her Birkin. I remember I said that I didn't see myself one day carrying an Hermes. I even questioned if an Hermes purse worth its price.

I then bought an Hermes Kelly 28 Etoupe in 2009 (Please don't laugh at me). I never carried it once since I bought it. I don't know why. I think I prefer smaller purses like Chanel Mini. I finally sold it last spring. Quel Dommage!!

But I have to admit that my Hermes Kelly's workmanship is impecable! I pulled out my Hermes Agenda I bought a couple years ago and checked it another day. I found that its Chevre leather was also soft and pleasing to both the touch and eyes. Its seams were perfect.

I made up my mind and bought a pre-owned black Kelly wallet and Kelly 20 black box. I just sent them for a spa yesterday at BH (Thank you, all ladies, for spa advice).

I promised myself that I will use both of these beauties more often after I get them back from Hermes.

We're all getting older everyday, and one of Hermes ladies here asked one wise question of my age and asked me what I would like to carry when I will be 60 years old.

I love ladylike dressing of 1950s-1960s era but I normally wear usual Californian style. I love carrying my purse on shoulder or cross-body and I am saving money for a Jypsiere 28 Gold now, but when I think of whether I will carry a Jypsiere in Gold when I am 60. I can't really picture myself that!! Can anyone who is closer to 60 or has seen any lovely old ladies carrying a cross body Jypsiere? Could you please share your insights and advice? You're all appreciated!!:smile1:
Sorry if my story is too long or too indecisive!!

I can sure relate to a lot of what you said -- not the LV attraction. I never went there mainly because of all the fakes back in the 80s. Everywhere. I thought well no one is carry Chanel except the older, mature women. Why I have no clue so that's exactly what I wanted and where I started and remained for decades, loyal to a fault. I moved away but on jaunts to the land of chaos all I was seeing was Chanel on every other arm. When Chanel began sliding down that slippery slope is when I bailed over to Hermes.

Wow, sold a 28. Let me sigh a deep sigh -- the ever elusive size 28. . . okay, it's done, wasn't meant to be for you.

I'm not young any more and my taste is eclectic, always has been so there are purses for the mood du jour. Wear what compliments you. The age factor is simply one of the inevitables.

Well, I'm not close to 60 or 50 or 40, but I don't consider 60 as old, I believe that it's not about the number of years one lived, but the way person carries herself, I've seen young 65 year old and old 25s. Back to the topic, I can certanly see someone of that particular age group carrying cross-body bag, Jypsiere in particular, why not? Older doesn't mean matronly or boring. I have to say though, before you buy it-try it first, I had Jypsiere and sold it even that I was in love with it at the beginning, the closing of the bag was somewhat bothersome for me.

Sold 28 Kelly?! Sheesh...I'm waiting for two of 28's coming my way
