Hi! I am thinking of buying my 1st H scarf :yahoo:from a reseller. It's really a very reputable reseller who only sells authentic H so I'm not worried about authenticity. The only thing is that that I've never purchased from Hermes before so I don't really know what should be included in the gift box when buying a scarf. Should there be an authenticity card (like other brand names have), care instructions leaflet or anything like that, or is it just the scarf and the Hermes gift box?

Thanks for the help!!!!

Congrats on your first scarf purchase! I'm sure this will be the first of many! :D

I have 2 scarves, one purchased at an Hermes boutique and one from a reseller. Hermes scarves do not come with an authenticity card. Mine did come with a box of knotting cards though.

Be sure to post photos of your new scarf!!

Hi HermesNewbie and thanks for the input. I'll definitely post pics when I have it. I think that there is no way out of the H addiction for me at this point! Which one of your scarves came wth the cards? The one from the store?

I have bought most of my scarves through resellers, and what "comes with the scarf" varies widely. Sometimes the scarves don't even come with a box! And then sometimes you will get the whole package: box, tissue, ribbon, perhaps a box of knotting cards and/or a scarf booklet too. Resellers should always tell you exactly what you will receive.

The only other things I have ever received were from a purchase at the 24 Faubourg boutique in Paris - there was a card in the box (in French and English) regarding the care and cleaning of my new scarf, and a card in French that said I could exchange this scarf for another one if I preferred.

Be sure to show us your new scarf when it arrives!

Knotting card is not always included - I think depending whether they have them in stock or not. If you're talking about the proper packaging for a scarf, it's only the box, white 'wrapping' paper, and the scarf itself and the ribbon that ties the box together, and that's about it.

While you're at it, make sure you check Zabavushka, La Femme aux Semelles de Vent, Tohu Bohu, Pelages et Camouflage, Kachinas, Bolduc, Au Coeur de la Vie, etc etc....

Oh boy I'm so evil. :roflmfao:

Hi Fashionpro. Today I bought my first scarf "fleurs d'ecosse" from Hermes Glasgow. It came in white tissue in a box tied with the H ribbon, a sealed packet of knotting cards in a H box and a histoires de carres booklet. It's all just gorgeous!!

So glad you are about to get your first H scarf - be careful, though, it is a very slippery slope. I have purchased (far too) many from H boutiques, Neiman Marcus and also from many different private sellers. As someone else mentioned, each private seller includes something different. I have received many with no box or anything, some with boxes and the H tissue, some with boxes and other tissue. The boutique will give you knotting cards if they have them in stock - most of the time my boutique doesn't have any. (Plus, I buy so many scarves that my SA usually only gives me one set of knotting cards, not a set each time I buy a scarf!) If they have scarf booklets in stock, they will give you one of those as well.

Can't wait to see which one you've selected - please do post the pictures!!
