i find that the deeper the bag goes, the better it looks without a zipper/a zipper becomes less imperative (the totes, for example); however, there shoudl always be a zipper on the more shallow/smaller bags like small hobos, pouches, caryalls, etc
totally agree. =/ I dislike bags that don't close all the way. I have a chelsea tote with a zipper that is centered but leaves massive gaps on both sides... kind of pointless to me =/
i guess they meant to make those totes with zipper that come apart (do not zip all the way) so that people can choose to leave it open or close it when necessary
