Hi I’m in need of some advice!

I have a white MoP 5 motif bracelet and wanted to add the blue agate. Malachite and yellow gold guilloche are also on my wish list.

My SA told me they have a worldwide shortage on the agate and check back in few months since I want to be able to pick my shade of blue.

Has anyone experienced something similar with blue agate recently? I have trouble believing there’s a “shortage” and feel like this is more a stocking issue due to the holidays.


Secondly, would gold guilloche be a better pick? With the way gold pricing is lately, I don’t know if I should just get that first and get agate later.

Funny enough, I have been regularly seeing the blue agate pieces appear in stock on the website lately. Not the bracelet, but both the earrings and necklace have popped up pretty regularly as I browse! I have a feeling that you may be correct--more an issue of holiday stock levels. With that being said, stocks of Alhambra bracelets in the boutique in general (not just this one) have been fairly low for a while. It is a different VCA world than pre-COVID, when I remember being able to compare 4 different MOP bracelets to pick my favorite!

The gold guilloche is very pretty, but just keep in mind that scratches over time are a factor with the bracelet as it is more likely to scratch than earrings or a pendant. If you know that already and don't mind, then go for it.

I just asked my SA what the wait time was if an order is placed for a 5 motif or 10 motif blue agate and he said 3-4 months. But I agree that they’ll likely pop up on the website before then.

I’ve been trying to get a BA 5 motif since September (located in the USA). My SA said she would get some in a couple of weeks but it took a month. The two that she got were dark blue. I am holding out for light/sky blue so I passed. She hasn’t gotten any more in. I don’t mind waiting for the shade I want though. There’s lots of other items on my wishlist so I can bide my time. It is frustrating that you can get BA earrings, pendant, ring, and watch easily even online, but no bracelet. I stalk the website daily and never see it there either.

Thanks for your feedback! It’s good to know there have been agate popping up on the website for items other than the bracelet. I’m envious you had a variety to choose from!

I’ll have to do more research on guilloche - frankly, I’m not sure how I would feel if it looked beat up since it’s not repairable.

I haven’t finalized what shade of blue I want. I figured whatever suits me best.

I think the light sky blue looks beautiful but then I also see the vibrant medium blues and feel like that’s a better bet for my skin.

How did you decide what shade of blue you wanted? I’m assuming it’s something like the middle bracelet?

The photo is from purseforum but I forget what post it was from.

That’s an excellent reference photo! Yes I like the almost neon shade in the middle. For me it’s because I have a set of WG blue sapphire jewelry and I don’t need competing pieces, but I still want YG in a blue tone and turquoise is not being produced right now (except for VVIPs). I think it’s more important to think about what clothes you’re going to wear with than your skin tone. Just my two cents though!

Hi! In my country, blue agate bracelet was never available readily in stock. I had to order and waited for 1 month for the bracelet to arrive.

I hear that you are considering the yellow gold guilloche as well. Have posted a reference pic for your comparison. I think the WMOP stacks really well w blue agate. My blue agate stone is darker in shade, more of a royal blue.

Has anyone ever ordered a bracelet that was not in stock, received it and then decided to return?

I’m thinking of buying the agate and returning if I don’t like the color.

Would appreciate any advice :)

I haven't done that but my understanding is VCA has a good return policy so it should be ok. You might want to check with your SA first.

I have the blue agate bracelet and 10 motif necklace and really love them. I highly recommend the bracelet! It's such a nice color and perfect for stacking. I wear it with MOP, sometimes onyx, sometimes tiger eye, malachite. The only bracelet I don't love it with is carnelian but otherwise, it's great with almost everything.

Paid deposit on Oct 6th for the 5-motifs BA bracelet and my SA told me it will take ~12 months (!!!) for it to arrive… it’s easier to get the one motif pendant but 5-motifs are in shortage… So yeah, I guess your SA is not lying to you. It’s been 3 months and no update on that bracelet so far. On the other hand, my SA had the 10-motifs hammered YG necklace for me within 3 weeks of inquiring. :biggrin:
