There is a high end furniture store with a jewelry store in the back within 15 minutes of where I live. I bought a sapphire channel set eternity band there 5 years ago which I love.

My jeweler makes jokes about this establishment. Today I drove past & on their sign was advertised a 4 carat I VS ideal cut for $45,000.

Not that I am buying but am curious as whether this is a good price. I do not know if it is gold or platinum mounting.

I know the place you are talking about ;-) There is a sales lady in there who is super nice. I know a couple who bought there ring there, and it is nice, but not great by my picky standards.
Anyway back to your question, it's probably an average price. If it were a GIA or AGS stone it would be cheap, but knowing that place, its probably a EGL cert (if any) and that brings the price down. I looked up the prices on some other sites and it seems 4ct prices range from $30k to 100k, even with the same color and clarity grade. EGL's are on the lower end.

LOLZ I know EXACTLY who you are talking about. My former business partner got his wife's stuff there and it's the biggest piece of frozen spit ever.

I wonder who graded that. Bec it would be a hell of a deal if it checked out.

If I were you I would want a smaller diamond with better quality from GIA at the least.
She doesn't want it. She's posting about a local jeweler/furniture shop advertising that and we're speculating if it's a good deal and who might have graded it.

A 4 carat diamond for me would be gaudy as I am somewhat of a minimalist. I just look whenever I drive past the store. This just intrigued me. As I said, I have a sapphire eternity band that I bought after my Mom passed away as a remembrance of her. Sapphire is my birthstone & I bought it from a small bequeath.
