I bought the Phillip Lim 31 Hour Bag for Men in East Dane for sale for $500. It hasn't arrived yet. I just want to know everyone's opinion on it. Is it a good everyday bag or more for traveling? I wanted a good travel bag, but I might use it for everyday also.

Thoughts?

Yes! I love this bag, and have spent far too long hovering over a 'buy' button with this one. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because I still have a small doubt about the ease of getting into this bag, particularly when in a rush (airport check-in etc). I worry that the fold-over top might be a bit of a fankle.

However, I love the look of it - very understated and androgynous, and wouldn't hesitate to carry it. The first time I saw this bag, it was being carried by a male colleague whom I barely knew, and I'm embarrassed to say that I really stalked him to try and see a visible brand name somewhere (there isn't one...), and then eventually had to ask him the designer #suavityfail

I'd love to hear how you get on with it when it arrives.

I just received the bag. I have to agree with you about the ease to get in and out of the bag. It's way too hard especially if you're in a hurry.

I also know why the bag was on sale. I got the bag damaged, the leather on the handle was stripping off!!

Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that. I presume it's going back, then?

If you ever find something similar, do please share it. I really like the 31 hour bag, but there is just that wee niggle at the back of my mind stopping me from buying.

I have the same reason why I can't commit on getting this handbag. I really love the shape of the bag but unfortunately getting in & out of it is challenge

I don't know that it being made in China has anything to do with it, but the quality of the materials has EVERYTHING to do with it, regardless of where it's made. Now we know that PL uses crap materials.

I recently saw a Tignanello in TJ Maxx with a leather-peeling problem on the handles, and was shocked - I've never cared for the brand, but now I'll absolutely never even consider one, no matter how good they look, and the rest of this bag looked good.

Now we know that Phillip Lim can't be trusted either.

Sorry this happened to you, OP, thanks so much for reporting back.
