30 Montaigne or 30 Montaigne BOX for petite?

Hi everyone! I am usually a Chanel girl but I am currently looking at other brands as Chanel prices are just skyrocketing (and QC going down...). I tried both of these bags in the boutique and I am still unsure. I am only 155cm (5ft1) and I find the 30 Montaigne slightly too big for my body frame but I like everything else. Whereas the size of the 30 Montagine BOX looks great but I feel it's too structured. I also think the strap is too thick for the box. I understand that's removable but I didn't realise the straps that are sold separately are quite expensive! I don't see that many threads talking about the box version. Will any owners please share your thoughts? I am pretty sure I want the ultra matte in black. (Links below for reference)

i dont like the strap on the box too.. it seems very disproportionate. i guess i would go for the other bag but if you still find that its too big for your frame then maybe you could consider another model or another brand altogether

Yes, that's exactly what I thought about the strap! I guess I will go back to the boutique and try them on again just to make sure. I am also considering the Celine classic box... Thanks for your input x

The box is cuter, but I dont like the strap. I recommend the mini lady dior. It’s the brand’s classic, fits a good amount for a mini bag, great for petits, and it offers an elegent chain strap. Sorry for suggesting something off topic

I'm open to suggestions so thank you x I also tried the medium Lady Dior in store but not the mini. It somehow didn't feel right for me. I will definitely go back and try the mini.

Thanks, I actually tried the small (not medium as I mentioned) but I think the strap is a little long for me, it sits below my hip when I wear it crossbody. I prefer on or above the hip. Is that the same for you?
