30 Kelly Black Togo

Hello
I am a first time Hermes buyer and I am really excited to get my hands on this one pretty soon.

But, I've always kind of have this idea that Kelly looks good in box leather only. Especially the black color.

Please help me Kelly owners. Am I wrong?

Should I keep this one?
And if I pass this one would it be difficult to come across another 32 black Kelly in Togo?

I can't make up my mind!

Have to say for my personal preference I prefer a smoother leather for Kellys as I only like the sellier style not retourne. I'm assuming from the fact that it's togo it's a retourne Kelly?

It depends what kind of Kelly you prefer - retourne or sellier (rigid)? I like both but their overall "look" differs a lot from one another!

I have two black Kellys in clemence and one curry in togo. All retourne. I love them, the black ones are GREAT in everyday use. Really fantastic.

However if you have been looking for black box you might get disappointed buying a togo Kelly...! I think that black togo Kellys are quite easy to find, so if you prefer to wait for black box you don't loose that much.

Picture of my 35cm clemence Kelly. Togo looks quite much the same, but holds it's shape bit better, the leather is bit less heavy and the grains are smaller.

Your Kelly is beautiful. Togo Kelly shoud look really similar, right?

You are absolutely right. Retourne and Sellier are two very different style bags and it is really matter preference. I've always admired Box Kelly and expected it would be my first Kelly, however, I dress casually most of the time these days (with an 8 month old baby around), and I am convinced after reading your reply that Togo might suit me better than Box for now. With Box, I may worry too much not to scratch and end up not carrying it much. Then what good is it?

Once I get it, I want to carry the bag and, not the bag carry me.
Maybe I can carry this Kelly like a Birkin. :rolleyes:

I'd love to see your other Kellys!

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking too. Smooth Kelly. :thinkin:

But, at this point in my life, soft Kelly for everyday use is very appealing...

By the way, do they make Sellier Kelly in Togo? I wonder what that may look like.
Does anyone know? Better yet, any photos please?

Congrats on new Kelly for you! 35 must make quite a presence.

So Black Togo Kelly is not that hard to find, huh?
When mine was found in Paris two days ago, there was another 32 Kelly in Chocolate Togo, and a couple more in different sizes, if anyone is interested.
