What they were thinking is they wanted to make high-end items. It's not like it's a bad thing. I like the colour of that second brown jacket, but I wish the picture was better. They might end up looking really nice in person.

I don't think many people (if any) are going to pay $2800 for a J-Crew cardigan no matter how much hand beading went into it.

Jcrew has had some limited edition pieces the last few seasons. I actually bought a limeted edition cashmere coat last season. That was unusual for me since I do not view Jcrew as a fashion house, but I had been looking for this retro-style for a while. Now the things pictured above are not at all attractive to me. BUT, put it this way: McDonalds is selling cappuccino's now...

im thinking that most people who spend $2800 on sweaters will be buying designer, not jcrew. jcrew is often ridiculously priced for a mall store.

I totally agree. Why would you spend $2800 on a jcrew sweater when for about the same price you can buy a better quality handmade Hermes cashmere sweater?

Hmm, that's interesting. Personally, if I were spending that much on a handmade piece, I'd rather get some other designer or other couture piece for that price.

Me too, not really a fan of j crew anyway, the prices are bit high for the quality IMO.
