  1. My husband has been ignoring the tingling in his leg for 3 weeks, despite my constant badgering that it is sciatica and he needs to get help. He believes me now after having the paramedics at the house and a trip to the emergency room.

Yesterday he lifted a 40lb bag of dogfood that probably put the nail in his sciatica coffin. After calls to the doctor and prescriptions for vicodin, he was still screaming at the top of his lungs and crying. He couldn't walk or sit so I couldn't even drive him to the emergency room. Finally, he started yelling for me to call 911 b/c he could no longer take the pain. Our 8 year old twin sons just came home from a b-day party and started freaking out. After several hours in the ER and enumerable percoset painkillers my husband was able to stop screaming. My kids had nightmares all night and I made sure my husband took his medicine throughout the nite. I had 2 hours sleep. Luckily, he has an appointment to see a spine specialist orthopedist tomorrow to get some real help.

Funny, how even handbags aren't of much interest to me today. Hopefully I'll snap out of this hell soon. I'm just glad he's feeling a little better. I know this is totally unpurse related but I just needed to vent. Sorry.
  2. Oh my goodness- I hope he feels better soon... And you can get some sleep!
  3. I'm so sorry for you and your husband! I hope he is feeling better today and has a speedy recovery. Is this something that goes away on its own, or does it require surgery or another procedure? I know neck and back problems can get nasty, my boss just had surgery for a degenerative disk in her neck and will be out for the next 6 weeks.

Hope you both are feeling better!
  4. Thank you so much for the kind words.
  5. I am sorry to hear about your story. I truly hope that your husband get well soon, children clam again so you get to have some tranquility again. My husband had been complaining about back pain, heel pain for a long time, I urged him to go to the doctor for the longest time until he could take the pain anymore and started going to see my chiropractor. He got better within few visits, I have made him an appointment to see the orthotic clinicien (for his heel paint) without consulting him because he always came up with excuses for not going, not he just has to. Sometimes men are such children when it comes to getting help from the doctors.
  6. I usually doesn't require surgery from what I've read but I believe he will have to do some physical therapy and daily stretching for it. I can't wait to have him checked by a specialist tomorrow.
  7. I know KK...Men really can be irresponsible when it comes to their health. The only time he got me angry yesterday was when he told me that I didn't know what pain was. I quickly shut him up by reminding him I had twins and was violently ill through my entire pregnancy. How quickly he forgot.
  8. my bf had the same thing about a year ago...and yeah, you get to take him to chiro/physio and all that jazz for about a month or so while he waddles around on crutches or just lays in bed while you dote on him! hehe...hope he gets better! its so hard to see my man out like that.
  9. Good luck with the specialist - I hope things get better soon. I've had some chronic back pain too and the chiropractor has been a great help. Hope your husband feels better soon.
  10. Oh my!!!! Good Luck with everything. I've been through some recent medical emergencies myself, bags definitely rendered irrelevant!
  11. so sorry to hear that:sad2: sounds like it sucks, hope all goes well...
  12. Oh my gosh, my thoughts are with your husband and your family. Will there be any enduring damage? I hope everything turns out alright.
  13. Wow that actually scares me to death. Im glad your husband is not in as much pain and I hope all goes well. My husband has been complaining about a tingling sensation in his leg for a month now...wakes up in the middle of the night saying his leg feels like its on fire and then it goes numb...it has not happened for the last week or so and now he thinks he is cured. I do not. He is going to get it checked this week...scary stuff! My thoughts are with you.
  14. I hope he gets better soon!
  15. so sad  i wish your husband will get well soon and your life will get back on track as soon as possible with the blessing of a healthy happy family.
