Hi everyone! Normally I do reveals every 6 mths or so but I really slacked off this past year and so this one is coming in over a year since my last one. Ugh...2024 was a year, what can I say? So, this is going to be a bit of a slog. Sorry for the backlog in advance...

Now that I've gotten pics taken of the past year's haul I can see it was a really good year of different and contrasting H goodies. My most recent goodie is a special one...and a first! But more on that in a minute...

Here's the damage from 2024-Jan of 2025:

I've always wanted something in bleu hydra, which I find mesmerizing, so I jumped when I saw the 36GP. The cityback 27 in plomb really fits my frame well and is so svelte for a backpack. I have enjoyed my apple watch Hermes, esp the 3 different bands. The dogon cardholder is mauve pale gets rotated with the cardholder in bleu glacier evercolor. I love the white/gold epsom belt strap (with old silver buckle) and the chocolat/black strap (with new guilloche buckle- have always admired that buckle). Tupliomanie drapes just perfectly. I love the smell of my barenia faubourg bastia and the vert titian boxcalf calvi I got at the Faubourg St. Honore (I really made them look for this!). The rouge piment evercolor lip balm holder is so charming, esp w/the saddles stitches up the side, and the craier silk in long wallet in epsom just goes with everything.

Now for the new arrival...
I've been collecting H for a long time but one bag has eluded me...a HAC. As @r luvs h @navicular @QuelleFromage @averagejoe know I've been contemplating and asking for thoughts about this bag for a bit. Well, I finally took the bait and what is below is the result...my first ever HAC...a 40 VERSO in bleu nuit togo and colvert chevre inside! At first I couldn't quite trust the description...I've had bleu nuit items and one can see the blue pretty clearly, at least from certain angles. With this bag it is almost not there. I didn't actually think this was bleu nuit bec it is so dark, but it does have the midnight blue stitching that @r luvs h has pointed out comes w/bleu nuit. That said, this has to be the darkest batch of bleu nuit togo in the H workshops, because it seems more like caban or another darker blue to me. I'm not complaining. I gasped when I first saw the bag in person. It is truly stunning and I just can't get over the fact that I found a verso HAC, which I've never seen before. It came w/the plastic still on the stickers. I've included pics with them on and now removed, as well as a pic with my new white samorga bag organizer inside too  Now here's some more interesting news....

Before getting this bag I wondered "will it be too big?" and "will it be too heavy?". There's no doubt...this is definitely the biggest H bag I've ever had. But, I've also found that when I put all the items I would normally put inside a bag when traveling for an overnight trip (actually, at least 2 nights) for the first time I discovered that everything fit inside comfortably. With other bags I frequently take to the airport (garden party 36, double sens 45, the cityback 27 backpack) the sides are bulging, things are stacked on top of each other awkwardly (which makes for frustrating digging and pawing, at times frantically), and it doesn't look good. H bags are just not as big as US travel bags. That makes them economical and easy to carry, but for travel it can be a challenge if you have to load up the bag.

So, it was a pleasant surprise to see that everything fit easily, there weren't multiple levels of items, and I could access everything easily. I can also thank the samorga bag organizer for that.

Then, I wondered, what about weight? So I conducted a test. I stuffed all the items I'd usually carry w/me in my carryon travel bag in the travel bags I usually rotate. Here are the typical contents for a trip that involves at least 2 nights overnight in my carryon (I always check my Rimowa suitcase for clothes and major toiletries):

1. 15" macbook pro
2. 1 hardbound book (sometimes it is softbound, but I wanted to push the limits here)
3. a file folder with 25-30 papers (work stuff)
4. zip-around H globetrotter (with agenda and notebook inside)
5. a ziploc of vitamins/pills
6. sunglasses with a microfiber or silk case
7. small travel hand sanitizer bottle
8. power bar (snack on the run)
9. the HAC lock and dustbag (in another bag it could be extra bricbrac)
10. 2 pens
11. airpods pro
12. laptop charging cable
13. iphone charging cable
14. apple watch charging cable
15. airpods charging cable
16. N95 mask
17. H neobain pouch with H SLGs:
-tarmac w/passport
-silkin coin purse with gum
-silkin long wallet w/extra cards and checkbook
-lip balm and case
-dogon compact card holder w/about 6-8 cards
18. a H scarf for extra warmth on the plane

I put all of the above in 6 different bags I often use for travel and here's what I found the weight results were in pounds (all bags have a bag organizer in them- lightweight):
1. lightest of all, not surprisingly, was my Longchamp Le Pliage shoulder tote, size L: 11.6 pds
2. then came the double sens 45: 12.3 pds
3. then the garden party 36 (all leather version): 12.5 pds
4. then the cityback 27 backpack: 13.2 pds
5. and yes, the HAC40 was the heaviest, at 14.5 pds.

BUT, what shocked me was that only 2.9 pds separated the lightest from the heaviest!! I had expected the HAC40 to be leagues heavier than the lightweight nylon (I think?) Longchamp but the difference was really not that much at all.

Of course, how it feels is different because you can sling the Longchamp over your shoulder, as well as the double sens, and the cityback can go on your back. Freeing up the hands does make a difference. And, with the rigid, fixed base of the HAC40 there isn't a lot of give that can allow that bag to "crumple" and shrink like a double sens. That said, is the benefit of easily accessing everything inside a viable alternative strength? I think so. If my biceps get bigger but I don't have to unload lots of stuff to get to small items in the bottom of the bag that has sunken or fallen down to lower depths, that's a bonus. If I can't sling the bag on my back but I'm saved from having to dig and hunt for some small thing way at the bottom of a dark interior, that's truly worth considering.

And, of course, there's the benefit of the beauty of this HAC, which cuts such a striking figure...and you know what? I'm 5'9" and it doesn't look too huge on me, esp because the color of the bag is dark and I often wear dark clothes.

I think it's a keeper! What do you think?

Thanks for following along w/me in this little expose! And thanks to all my wonderful tpf friends for providing invaluable thoughts and perspective as I considered this bag. I love and collect H but I try to be a smart shopper and not impulse buy. If I get something I really want to use it and love it. #definitelynotaprofessionalreseller

Lots of love to you all!! Happy 2025!

Lots of love to you all!! Happy 2025!
I love your Hermes collection! Your pink card-holder (forgot the name) is the one that got away for me, in Bleu Nuit. I tried to check out with it on the Hermes website but it said it was no longer available. I didn't have an Hermes wallet at the time. Since then I've purchased other styles, but I really love how this one closes.

Your HAC is definitely a keeper! The verso lining is extraordinary! I'm surprised it's only 2.9 lbs heavier than the Longchamp. As you mentioned, the fact that it can only be carried by hand without shoulder and crossbody options means that the bag may feel heavier than the other bags because the method of carrying cannot be switched to give the hands a break.

The wooden base is a feature I love about the HAC. Bags generally aren't made that way anymore.

Do you find that the bag organizer is keeping the structure of the HAC better, especially when it is not in use? I haven't used mine enough to experience significant softening or sagging of the leather, and I just store it with the big bubble wrap that came with the bag.

You are so wonderful! I don’t think I would have gotten this hac had it not been for your pictures over the years with yours on here!

Ooooo I bet that dogon cardholder you almost got in bleu nuit was stunning…Ive never seen one in that color and it would have been amazing in evercolor!!! I still am not completely sold that my hac is blue nuit - it is just such a dark leather batch, if so- but I can tell it isn’t quite black and the mystery/ambiguity is beguiling.

I do find that the samorga helps A LOT. I wondered if I should perhaps try to find a bag pillow (or even bubble wrap, like you). I have to admit- I like how the felt/leather hacs always stand tall…but then I definitely also like how the leather ones slouch. Lol. I guess I’m indecisive but I definitely wouldn’t store the bag without at least something in there. I really do like this samorga though…sometimes their 2mm felt organizers are a little too much for smaller bags (I tend to prefer softer designs like 7rp or maitai) but for this large imposing bag it is great.

What I’m still considering are bag charms/decoration. This bag looks somehow complete without any but I am considering one of the H mirror bag charms (narcisse clochette or the round ones in madame) or naybe a luggage tag so there’s at least some functionality. Or, if i got a rodeo I think i’d want a monochromatic one. I’m still considering and looking around lol. I definitely could not “Jane Birkinify” this bag….adding all that extra weight and having lots of extra stuff dangling would be an inconvenience in a travel situation, I think….

Congratulations, Dear Hermezzy! :hugs:

I giggled when I read your first post about your "damage" from 2024-Jan. 2025. It is Beautiful Damage, I must say!
Your have exquisite taste, and all of your items are so well-thought out as to how you will use them. I love each and every one!!!

Your HAC is beyond fabulous! What a very very special bag. Blue Nuit came out shortly after I purchased my Blue Indigo kelly, which is another dark blue. Colvert is magnificent and pairs so well with BN. WOW! JUST WOW WOW WOW! I know you will get so much use out of this for travel, work, and fun fun fun. If anyone deserves such a special bag, it is YOU! This was well worth the wait and thank you for your story and showing us your H goodies!

Blessings to you!

Wow, I just realized I had some grammar issues on some of my posts...ugh...sorry everyone...I put together this reveal pretty late last night and obviously didn't proofread enough! Doggone it!

congrats on the Cityback!
Thank you so much! It is a really special backpack...and very rare! I love Pierre Yves-Labey's designs from the time he was at H! There's truly no other backpack that looks like it on the market, and it is so svelte when you wear it. So often backpacks are so huge and bulging and tanklike...this one is a lot more streamlined. If I don't have to carry much it really is ideal!

You are just such a gift to this world!! Every time you post I smile from ear to ear! Thank you for the words of love and support! Blue indigo kelly? Now THAT sounds spectacular! What leather? I had a blue indigo victoria in evercolor and it was such a beguiling, stunning color...so rich and deep. That bag got compliments in an H boutique once...I bet you love it and I know you wear it with effortless elan and great elegance!

Hooray! I know I've already told you, but congratulations again on your stunning, new HAC!:hbeat::yahoo:
You are a godsend to this forum...and to all of us!!!! Thank you so much for your kind words!!!!!!! I swear...this HAC had to have been made from the very darkest batch of blue nuit if it is blue nuit...but I'm not complaining because it really is something special. Now I understand the HAC allure and mystique!!

BTW...I've been thinking about taking some mod shots w/the HAC, as an homage to, and inspired by, your pics! What do you think? Should I do it?
