Holding thousands and thousands of client's dollars for months and months only to have your order cancel is WRONG. I know someone mentioned it perhaps being illegal. Is there an attorney here that can answer and is there a class action case here?
It’s likely legal since you’re placing a deposit without order, the name itself suggests that it’s not tied to an item. It basically works like them holding a store credit for you. I had a DEPWO for months with the Tyler drop then eventually just applied it to something else. Not that I agree with what they’re doing, FWIW. But I know the deal when I give them my money and I can choose to no longer do business with them if I don’t like their new schemes.

If you ordered an actual item that was cancelled a while later, I assume their defense is that they’re making you whole by refunding. There are people who have had a deposit on the Tesla Roadster since 2017 with no updates

But, of course you can sue anyone for anything.

Is the amount that they are holding as a "deposit" the full purchase price?

wow that is so messed up , I am truly sorry. It is really wrong..... how could they not fulfill the orders even with a delay? They should not have stopped making the bag until all orders fulfilled. This is insane and I myself was considering one item maybe from Cerise but especially after reading this, makes me also disgusted and will not do Cerise. I will save my money for Chanel.
That's what I am thinking too. How come they are not able to fulfill the orders yet they opened up orders recently and those that were able to place orders already received their items? Wasted so much time and energy. I have been putting aside some Hermes purchases to buy these Murakami pieces first since they're "limited", but seems like they are restocking consistently. I can almost guarantee they're going to open up for order for Cherry Blossom again.

Ugh that's awful. I have something sort of similar happening-- I had an order for a PA and a shawl places mid January. Neither has ever fulfilled and when I contact CS they say that the date has been changed to the next week, then the next week comes and goes and I ask again and I'm told the same thing. Meanwhile there have been online restocks that people placed in the past month for the PA and they got it right away. Really don't enjoy whatever this model of doing business is...
Exactly. People who just ordered recently received their items and those who ordered in January are getting their orders cancelled. Makes no sense to me. I don't know what's worse: getting your order cancelled or them telling you your order is in limbo. Their business model is so unprofessional and tacky. I don't know what happened to the fashion house. They used to be so luxurious.

I agree...also, the fact that you can cancel your order/deposit whenever you want seems to cover them. What they're doing is absolutely ridiculous...but idk if it's necessarily illegal. Like someone said earlier, this was a chance for LV to bring old customers back and get new ones but they've completely dropped the ball on customer service.

Understandable when it's just a deposit, but what if it's an actual order paid in full? I would have preferred to put a small deposit in hopes of securing the item and holding onto my thousands of dollars for months myself. I have never experienced this with any other fashion houses. Chanel and Hermes when paid in full I get to take item home right away. Never had had to pay in full for months prior to getting my items. I am just lost for words at this point. I have always loved LV since I was young. Their items were top tier and the customer service made it all feel luxurious. Now it's shoddy craftsmanship and unprofessional CA's. Sad to see what the company has become.

Wow, I didn't know that about Tesla. These companies really need to stop trying to oversell and makes false promises to their customers.

I am! Placed my order on 03/21 and no updates yet! I asked the SA and she just told me they are expecting them to be fulfilled by the second week of May, but honestly now I take it with a grain of salt!
I took over someone’s order who was cancelled from March and my SA said ETA is June 10 but will probably come sooner. I just don’t know if that’s true. I’m impatiently waiting. I really hope you get yours soon!!! Keep me posted please.

I guess the argument would be, if you don’t want your money tied up for months with no guarantee, then why do it? I know it’s in hope of securing something - but until we consumers stop going along with it, they’ll keep doing it.

After falling for their tactic with the Tyler launch, my CA knows there’s like a 2-3 day window for me on this wait and see game before he either gives me a guarantee… or a refund.

Yup, some ppl stalk the website and got them right away through re-stock. While others waited since January and got nothing.

While I was in Japan. The CA told me nothing Murakami! I'm thinking "but I'm in JAPAN"! Then she proceeded to show me everything that is totally unattractive. Then I asked about the men's iridescent collection (thinking with free duty I can score a good deal). She told me no keepall 25, then 5 minutes later, pulled one out from her drawers. What????

I was so turned off. I said no thanks. Even though, with the exchange rate and the tax refund it would have been a great deal. I just hated the game!

Meanwhile, my Chanel experience was wonderful. First trip, saw 3 pairs of earrings. Didn't get anything because I couldn't decide. Then went back a second time, the same CA smiled and said she remembered me, then showed me all three again. I got the big sized black/ white CC pair. This is luxury shopping.

Question, I have a TM item to return to Client Services. Does the 30 days return policy start at point of shipping or delivery? It took several months to receive the item from date of purchase so they can’t possibly go by that right?

Beyond irritated with LV now... I placed an order for the black Nano Speedy since January. I checked the order status last week only to see that it was missing from my account. I figured it was a glitch in the system and would check again the next few days. Checked earlier to see that it was still missing. I chatted with CS and she told me the order was updated on 05/09 and she would have the store contact me. I asked what does it mean that the order was updated. She said it was cancelled! I asked her if the order was cancelled how come I do not see a refund and why no one from the store contacted me. She said refund was between 5-7 days, but she will escalate it to management to have someone to call me.

So, I basically wasted 4 months waiting on a bag only for it to be cancelled with no one even notifying me. This is not luxurious at all. As much as I love the few items I have received from the MC collection, I can't help but to feel like they're tainted or I don't have a good feeling when I wear them. I am quite appalled at LV and their business practices. Take people's thousands of dollars only to tell them months later that they can't fulfill their end of the promise. I was considering an item from the Cerises collection, but now I do not know if I want to participate in this ridiculous charade.

As another person posted, it looks like the black MC items are being cancelled. It's amusing to me that they can't fulfill these orders that have been placed months ago, yet they are dropping new items every few weeks or so. Feels like LV wants to be fast fashion now vs luxury.

Rant over.
This is awful and truly messed up given how many restocks there have been of the black nano speedy since the beginning of January
