A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

August 13 - Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta

August 20 - Burberry, Celine

August 27 - Coach, Chanel

September 3 - Chloe, Dior

September 10 - Dooney & Bourke, Fendi

September 17 - Ferragamo, Givenchy

September 24 - Goyard, Gucci

October 1 - Hermes, Kate Spade

October 8 - Loewe, Longchamp

October 15 - Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs

October 22 - Michael Kors, Miu Miu

October 29 - Mulberry, Prada

November 5 - Proenza Schouler, Rebecca Minkoff

November 12 - Saint Laurent, Tods

November 19 - Tory Burch, Valentino

November 26 - Bags by Jewelers: Bulgari, Cartier, Tiffany Co, Van Cleef & Arpels. Alternatively, the pillboxes, compacts and other lovelies made by jewelers that fit in your bag.

December 3 - independent artisans and custom bags.

Stop me, please!!!!!

I almost bought a bag tonight. One I loved at first sight, but certainly I do not need another bag, especially none with a serious pricetag.
For now I closed the site...
I haven´t even worn my Miss Dior yet...
I know how it feels. I tell myself no new bags, then I see someone carrying a cute bag and I start looking at selling sites. I saw a Dooney & Bourke that was really cute. The only reason I didn't buy it is because it doesn't come in leather. It is nylon with leather trim. At least it isn't expensive.

The selling sites at my fingertips are a pest! Haha!

Problem is that I started my Christmas shopping and have been on all of the sites to look for a very affordable temporary designer bag for my younger daughter and Dior bags for the older one.

The fairly cheap Rebecca Minkoff wasn´t too big of a problem. I found one as good as new that will do the trick.

The older DD who fell in love with my Lady Perla might be disappointed. Dior preloved prices have gone up far too much and even the Lady Perla is currently sold at several hundreds, mainly in questionable condition- my nearly perfect one was under 200 on ebay not too long ago.
I can´t justify spending this kind of money for the "unwrap present" that shouldn´t be more than a nice surprise.

So I decided to give her my DKNY Gansevoort. I´ve been tlc´ing it and made a new bag insert that helps her keep the shape better than my first attempt.

Maybe let her know in advance about the bag so she's not upset on the holiday itself? Or maybe she wants to contribute to the cost to get the bag she wants?

No Ferragamo, no Givenchy  although I have been tempted by both periodically.

I just love Ferragamo, all of it. It just always seems a little bit too grown-up for me  (unless we're talking retro shoes and scarves).

I'm warning you all, when we do Gucci week, you will be soooooooooooo sick of me

Re the discussion a few pages back - my (of unknown provenance) dishwasher continues to soldier on, but the Bosch washing machine I moaned about suddenly died this week. I think it choked on all the buttons it swallowed. I’m cross because it’s only 4 years old, but also very glad of a reason to get shot of it.
However, it look me a whole morning to decide on a new one :yucky: I just hate shopping for this kind of stuff, and there are so many ridiculous options I got sucked into comparing and evaluating, which I’ll probably never use. I could happily spend a week bag shopping and consider it a pleasure and time well spent, but shopping for appliances is a nightmare :faint:
