So .. got to see all of the colors IRL at the Balenciaga boutique in LA (just the swatches, no bags in yet).

The Rouge Cerise is really pretty, but it's not what I would call a 'true' Burgundy. It definitely has a brown undertone to it, but when in the sun, it looks more "bordeaux/reddish". I would say that it favors the '09 Sanguine, except more Wine overtones.

The Vert Pinede is really pretty, kind of a cross between Vert Menthe & Lagon.

What really caught my eye, are the 4 Main collection colors, which are not on the color swatch at the beginning of this thread:

  1. Rouge Lipstick - GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS!!!! A deep and bright color, reminiscent of the Coquelicot but with more Pink undertones .. a total winner IMO!
  2. Marron Chanterelle(?) - not 100% sure about the 2nd word, but this was a very pretty beige with warm undertones; definitely looked like light-colored mushrooms!
  3. Military Green/Khaki - OMG! :loveeyes::heart::hbeat: this color!! It's a gorgeous olive green with a warm yellow undertone; very reminiscent of the '05 Olive.
The standouts in this collection (IMO) are the Rouge Cerise, Rouge Lipstick and the Military Green!

How would you compare the military green/khaki to 2010 light olive, since you mentioned yellow undertone.

Hey *S*!! The Military Green/Khaki has more green, so it is more vibrant than the '10 Light Olive. What I also thought was interesting, was that it's almost like it was "spicy" .. meaning that there were just beautiful undertones to it such that it looked like a rich Olive (again - kind of like the old '05 Olive!)

Oh man, I may be adding some more Bals. I have wanted an olive city from my rookie days. If the undertone is just right, I may have to get one. RL has more red than RT? Hmmm wonder if it is like Givenchy's cherry from the current season. Been on a Bal buying kick. Got three just this year. I don't have any more room in my closet!!!

Btw, as you have unloaded PTs, I have been starting to collect PTs. Love them! They are great mom bags. Must keep the back and shoulders strong. :biguns:

i just commented on the other thread re main colours for F/W
They are very autumnal indeed
I love the rouge lipstick, which here in the London Boutique did not have any pink undertones. It was more a brighter (and less brow) version of the rouge cerise
The Maron Canelle is a dark camel, a darker version of cumin
The green one was lovely too, a true olive indeed
I asked re silver hw, the decision to stop production has not yet been confirmed
The colours will be released in UK from August/september

The Khaki sounds divine. I started using my 05 Olive Work (after getting over the handles) and can't stop using it. I treat it like a neutral with most colors.

If I didn't just cheat on Bal :shame: I'd run to my local boutique to see it.

Marron Canelle .. that was the name; thank you *LoveHeart*!! Now, if I could just remember the French name for the Olive~

August/September seems so far away :(. Any idea if it's sooner in France?
