This is from one of my friend's entries on livejournal. It's basically a list of questionaires that concerns what happened to you in 2006 and a bit of 2007. I think it'll be cool if the lovely members here can also do his/her own memes. I'm going to post the questionaires below ... I guess I'll start. To do your own meme, simply omit my answers and replace with yours.

1.What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
I finally became financially responsible, and stood up to my SO for a change.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't take any since I know I would end up breaking them anyway ... and none for 2007 since I don't want to jinx myself

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. *knocks on wood*

5. What countries did you visit?
Singapore, Hongkong. That's it. I wish I could've gone to more places, but 10 days a year and the fact that I have an SO who is in Asia did NOT help.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Happiness and success

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Crap, I cannot remember the date that I got engaged?!!!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I'm finally out of debt after 9 years without any help from anyone or agencies - yeah, I'm feeling pretty good about that

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not having been able to get into the consulting industry

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
That old ankle injury from a snowboarding accident, the doctor said it'll never full heal.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My SO. We got engaged, 'nuff said.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My Mom.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Hermes *sigh*

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Eh ... the fact that I am starting to go back to my old, cynical, non-girlie, dark, brooding self? I think I lost myself somewhere when I started dating my SO, never liked being the stereotypical "girl".

No idea ... I never paid attention to music for that purpose.

Taking care of myself

Stressing over how to please other people

Las Vegas with my family and my cousin.

That happened in 2003.

I don't hate people, I just dislike them.

Happiness and success ... got neither this year

I spent time with my family, got yelled at ... I'm almost at another decade mark.

Getting into consulting ... All right, I'm starting to feel like a serious failure here...

I'm starting to drift toward black ... and I think I'm actually going punk and goth now.

Me.

I don't care much for celebrities, socialites, or public figures, they've overrated. So none.

I stopped paying attention to politics earlier this year, it just pisses me off.

I really don't know.

I don't know about that one either.

I didn't keep to my resloutions... but for 2007 - I will stick to my guns for sure!

Yes

No not this year thankfully!

Went and stayed at a fancy Hotel with the girls and I turned 25

1.What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
I went snowboarding for the first time in my life and it hurt like a mother! I did end up having fun, though.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Not at all. I vowed to give up coffee and drink only green tea. That lasted about a week before I started swilling down the double lattes again.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, and I hope no one does in the near future, either.

5. What countries did you visit?
None. :crybaby: We got married and bought a house late 2005, so we're still feeling a bit of a financial pinch.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Security in home and job, our belated honeymoon, and less stress.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Unfortunately, nothing really stood out for me this year.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finally realizing that I needed to get a hold of my finances, and at work, that I didn't have to work 18 hours a day; my happiness and personal life are far more important.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Planning. I am a terrible planner, and an excellent procrastinator, which eventually means that I need to work harder.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I twisted my ankle three times, and was bitten by a tick.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My LV silver Graffiti pochette and Denim Baggy PM!

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My Sister, who finally realized that forcing my niece to become a miniature version of her was an impossible endeavor.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My father and mother, who refuse to acknowledge that my older brother needs serious psychological help.

14. Where did most of your money go?
I'm still trying to figure that one out. :hysteric:

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Nothing, which makes me sad. This year kind of sucked. :sad:

Traveling. I need to escape at least once a year, otherwise I get depressed.

Shopping for clothes that I didn't need.

With my family, which was actually fun.

I fell in love in 2000, and am still in love with the same person in 2006.

Hey, I'm married! None, of course!

It's a toss up between The Sopranos and Lost.

No, my dislikes tend to stay the same.

A Honeymoon with my DH and understanding with my parents; neither happened.

We went out for dinner and drinks with friends; I turned the BIG 36 this year, which is strange because I still feel like I am 26.

Going on a honeymoon; actually,going on any trip outside of the state would have been satisfying.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Mature hipster?

34. What kept you sane?
My sense of humor.

The same ones I always fancy.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I have my politics, but this is the one forum in which I want to keep politics off the board. Suffice it to say that I am not happy with the current administration.

My friends, whom I rarely get to see anymore because everyone is so busy.

Most of my students.

HMM..I spent an entire year without stepping foot in California! :sad:

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Yes. I had a healthy baby this year. And I will be making alot more resolutions for this upcoming year. *Fingers crossed*

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I did! Does that count?!

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Someone I was close to my JR year of HS died in a car accident.

5. What countries did you visit?
Just stayed in good old Texas.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
NO MORE ANXIETY!! More sleep!!

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
03.30.06 <---(My son's birth)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Definently having my 2nd baby while the other one was still a baby.

9. What was your biggest failure?
There's been a few...definently taking sides when it comes to my parents.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I just gave birth and the only illness I really suffered from was my post partum anxiety that seems to not have left!

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My LV mono Speedy 30..yay!!!

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My DH. He became way more understanding.

Definently both my parents. Especially my dad who thinks its ok to make his daughters choose sides and turn against their own mother. *augh*

Ipod..Laptop..School...LV... a $300 power wheels car for my 2 year old who ended up playing with his baby brothers' toys more..

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting my first LV bag!! (and my baby's birth too...)

Fergilicious. Just because my sister is ALWAYS singing it.

Took more time for myself and not stressed myself out.

Family and then in-laws. Good times.

I fell in love with my newest baby. But i've been in love since 2003.

Being waaaaaaaaaaay less anxious and being back home in Southern California.

Daydreaming. Seriously. I will just stare out into space when i'm bored or sad and just dream about my life in the future with my family. :smile:

It USE to be Britney Spears but that has since changed. So now it's Tyra Banks.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Im VERY conservative (I was raised in a non denomination church with strong "morals" and stuff) but I dont want to start any debates. I am so open to all kinds of things if people just tell me about it respectfully and nicely. :smile:

All my friends in SoCal...I love you guys!!!

38. Who was the best new person you met?
hmmm..my live in nanny that my parents hired for me. She is a BIG help!!

traveled business class on my first international trip!

for the most part...my resolution was to love myself just a little bit more by the end of the year. and i do. and i figure once i love myself enough, the weight will come off.

an ability to take life as it comes and not allow myself to get caught up into situations beyond my control.

july 19 (4:33pm)...the moment i finally walked out on doug after i let him hit me for the last time. i called my mom as i was walking out the door and told her i needed to come home...

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
dean's list! finally! i was always just missing it!

9. What was your biggest failure?

no failures because i am still here and still trying very hard.

indeed. ended up in the er a few times.

my new ipod, which is permanently attached to me now. and my coach carryall. :P

my best friend emily's...for reasons i won't go into, but i am so terribly proud of her.

diane's (ex's mom). i have no doubt her and her son will rot in hell.

the first time i tried on a dress at the store and realized, damn, i look good! for whatever reason, it was the first time i ever felt that good about myself.

I really started to get ahead financially and started making time for myself.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember the resolutions that I made -- they were a year ago! Tee hee.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes. My very good friend had twin girls in May.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. Although my other good friend had 2 miscarriages which were very hard on her.

5. What countries did you visit?
Seoul, South Korea. Otherwise I stayed in the US the whole year.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
More money, less debt and a place to call my own. I'm tired of renting.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I always remember Christmas, it's when I spend time with my family.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Paying off a large amount of money, getting ahead.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not paying off more!

Keep yourself well and don't worry about what other people have. Chances are they are up to their eyeballs in debt and they look wealthier than they really are. The less debt you have the less stress you have.

I think that just getting through this year was an achievement, it was a tough one. I want to focus on not just getting by in the upcoming year.

Probably not making much headway on my diss or debt. Also putting on weight, about 15 pounds. I'm coming out of this year feeling a lot like a failure.

I wanted to stabilize my romantic life and did, it took a lot of work.

I celebrated a few times with family and friends, I am now the big 2-7.

Being happy with myself - I would have tackled so much more I think if I could have stopped being so critical of myself and scared. But I worked really hard to make that better, I'm going into this year with a better attitude.

Umm, pretty simple, I'm getting very good at knowing what will look good on me and what won't. I even got on my student evaluations this year "very well dressed"

Group therapy, my friends and family, my boyfriend, and occasionally my kitty! I'm lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life.

Becoming a dual American / Canadian citizen and moving to Canada.

As for everything else, I wanted what I thought I needed and got what I actually needed instead. I also wanted clarity in terms of my path in life and learned to accept my life instead.
