Hi everyone - hoping to get some quick input. I bought an onyx 5 motif bracelet but I don’t really love it. The more I look at it, it just looks like a black hole. It has no sheen and doesn’t feel like jewelry to me.

My initial thought was to get the white MoP but my SA recommended the onyx and I got a bit swayed lol. I do find the MoP beautiful but a bit boring compared to other colors. Plus I wear all black often.. I think I’m a bit tired of the color black in general.

I liked carnelian in photos but it just looked brown on me. I think I would have to search for a certain shad of red. I tried malachite - it was nice but I didn’t seriously consider it for a first bracelet because it’s so delicate. Now I’m thinking of going back and exchanging for either MoP or malachite or maybe carnelian. What do you think would be better? My most worn jewelry is mostly yellow. I currently have vintage mop earrings and love/juc in Yg.

Hi! I’m here to say, get what you love! The onyx is beautiful, i recently bought it as well, and have a similar set up -love and juc. For me the onyx adds the pop of color, and i chose it for its durability. I have the sweet carnelian, and it doesnt pop as bright of a red as i would like. Even with the onyx, it’s a bracelet i take off at night, so if you have a more delicate stone, you should just take extra care when you’re washing your hands during the day so it’s overall not a big of a hassle as the SA probably made it seem like. I personally would go for the malachite or even an agate!

I just recently had the same issue….. I went to purchase my first motif bracelet as I had my mind set on the MOP after looking and researching tons of photos on instagram. Upon arriving at the boutique I noticed the onyx and thought it was absolutely beautiful. I tried both on and believe me it was a tough decision but in the end I stayed with my original choice of the MOP. I also purchased the necklace in MOP a few years ago and it looks just as beautiful as the day I got it and I’m not super careful with my jewelry as I think everyday is a special day to wear my treasures I think the onyx looks gorgeous on you, but if you have any doubts exchange it for your true love
I had to have mine sized…..I’m waiting for its return! My wonderful SA convinced me that I can add the onyx at another time as it becomes an “addiction “ lol.

If you don’t love it, definitely return it get something you love! I also think the colored stones are just stunning.

I actually went in to VCA thinking I’d get an onyx, but (while beautiful) it actually looked a little to harsh on me. I ended up with TE (which is stunning if you’ve never seen it in real life).

Coming from a fellow carnelian lover - it’s worth it to search for the right shade. It’s also much more durable than MOP.

Both TE and carnelian are surprisingly neutral and go with everything I own. Beautiful with blacks too, if you wear a lot of black. Not mine, but a pic of the TE/carnelian 5 motifs at the boutique.

IMO VCA pieces with stones are just not meant to be worn everyday. And therefore, I'd just something that is a little more special and unique.;)
I'm biased because I am a sucker for rich green colors but I think the malachite is absolutely stunning!
It's the only stone I currently would consider buying from VCA. (Don't have any VCA because it currently does not work out for my lifestyle.)

I'd suggest you to try on Tigers Eye, it looks like just brown and gold stripes in photos, but in person the stone is so pretty and fun to look at, the color/pattern changes as you move your arm, also go perfectly with black & other neutral outfits. The tricky part is finding a color/pattern combo that you really like since each TE can look so different. Malachite is really pretty too but too delicate for bracelet imo, I prefer it (and MOP) for necklace and earrings.

I prefer carnelian but I think you would love MOP more since you also have the earrings. And it could not be more different from the flatness of the black. That’s what I love about the black but everyone is different.

I just want to thank everyone for such great feedback :) I made an appointment to go back today. I hope there’s something I just can’t leave the store without minus any diamond pieces tho
