I was recently gifted a pair of 14 karat solid gold bangles that I'd like to share. They're inspired by the Cartier Love Bracelet, but have slightly different dimensions and one hinged end akin to the Aldo Ciupullo Revson bracelet. Also, being 14k, the yellow is a bright cheery color and the rose is copper pink. The contrast is striking.
These are the only lower karat gold jewelry I own and I'm surprised how much I like them. They're lighter than I'm used to gold jewelry being, but they still have respectable heft. I plan on wearing them 24/7 and hope the lower gold content gives them more scratch resistance and keeps the color of the rose from fading as much as Cartier's 18k pink alloy. Even so, I consider these "bridge" costume pieces and at under 2k for the set won't be too upset if they get banged up or pitted from pool or sea water, and I won't feel guilty if I decide to give them a sabbatical from my wrist.
I was contemplating a pair of H clic clacs or a medium T wire bracelet for around the same price, and am surprisingly pleased by my decision.
Thanks for letting me share!
