I was just wondering if anyone has bought the 10 diamond love bracelet and regretted it or are you really happy with the choice? I’m planning to buy one with some money left to me by my parents (I feel the love bracelet is a nice idea as it’s screwed on and I really like the semi permanence of it and feel it would be a piece I would wear all the time in memory of my parents)

My husband and I went to Cartier. I know I would like diamonds as opposed to plain but I’m really agonising between the 4 and the 10 (or I could go preloved and get 6, I actually really wish Cartier still did the 6)

I’m not an especially blingy person, my engagement ring is just a smidge under a carat and the diamonds in my wedding ring are subtle. I like the idea of having some screws visible as it feels more classic Cartier but I also really like the look of the 10 diamonds but can’t decide if it feels just a little too much. I’m probably rambling a bit but would love any imput. This is a really really important piece of jewellery to me. Because it represents my parents and our family it really appeals to me for its style of being locked on and worn constantly as opposed to something I might take on and off a lot. It might also be worth adding I have no experience with Cartier and the brand itself doesn’t necessarily appeal to me, it’s just this particular bracelet that I really like the meaning and symbolism of

Thank you

I picked the 4 diamond over the 10, mainly because I liked the combination of the appearance of screw motifs and diamonds. I eliminated the classic as I wanted diamonds in the bracelet
Thank you, yes I’m certain that I want diamonds so I’m glad I’ve got that certain. Even though I say I’m not blingy I do love diamonds but smaller ones that to me feel like they’re easy to wear every day and can be dressed up and down.

What a beautiful way to celebrate your parents memory! I too was faced with the same decision last year and decided to go with the 10 diamond. I am still happy with my decision. Similar to you, the symbolism and meaning really spoke to me vs the Cartier brand name. The screw motif is distinctively Cartier but I went for more the aesthetic that appealed to me as well as one that I thought could best grow with me over time. I also wasn’t sure if I would get tired of the screw motif - where I live the design is everywhere. The bracelet overall has a lot of shine in general but I don’t find the diamonds to be over the top. The 4 diamond seemed to disappear a bit to me in the heavy metal of the bracelet - and seemed to be smaller sized than the ones on the 10 diamond but I could be wrong. At the end of the day, it’s really personal preference and the one that speaks to you more. Good luck in your decision!

Oh thank you so much for your reply and advice. The bracelet looks beautiful and I think some of the points you’ve made about it are the same way I feel about it. I’m a very indecisive person in general but this is such a big sentimental decision

And thank you. I feel it’s an appropriate way to honour them. I knew I wanted a piece of jewellery because that is something you keep on you and close to you. I wanted it to be something I wouldn’t buy myself due to cost and extravagance as I felt that made it more special. And when I read about the Love bracelet and it being screwed on I just thought that felt right for this. I see it as one last gift from my parents that I hope will last a lifetime and of course could potentially be passed down through generations.

Lots of thinking to do this weekend to get it right!

I have the 4 diamond, and like you, I wished that the 6 diamond option was still available. The 10 diamond was also on my radar, and the plain was never.. All these years later, I have two thoughts that I wish I knew at the time: 1. These bracelets get banged up - they're soft, so every little scratch/ding shows up over time. It's not a good idea to polish them frequently, so you will have diamonds surrounded by scratches no matter which one you choose. 2. They are waaaaaaaaaaay too popular now. For these two reasons, I have regrets about obtaining the Love bracelet in general, and had I have known both these things ahead of time, I may have chosen something else. My husband wanted me to have one for years, so selling it is not an option at this point. Just an fyi..

I'd go for 4 diamonds for sure. Some visible screws make it look way more classic imo. Plus perhaps a Love ring?
Yes I agree that the screws are way more classic. And people will know it’s a Love bracelet which appeals to me despite the fact I’m not really that into Cartier. But I’m also trying to think that no one will think about it as much as me and I’m not sure most of the people I know would know much about Love bracelets.
The rings are lovely and who knows maybe I will get addicted! But I only wear my wedding set, for some reason rings annoy me even though they’re one of my favourite pieces of jewellery. I’m a walking contradiction!

It is such a shame they discontinued the 6 but it is still an option in the preloved market. I’m not especially bothered about brand new if it means getting exactly what I want. I do like the plain but I only ever plan to buy one so I know I would really like some sparkle.
I actually really like the look when they lose their shine and get a bit worn in, I’m not sure why, I think I just like that it looks lived in.
I was a bit put off by how popular they are and as so many people have them I did think that for the sentimental reasons I’m buying it maybe it’s not special enough knowing that it’s not unique. I did briefly think about having a bracelet made but we went the handmade route for my wedding and engagement ring and because I’m a bit of a perfectionist and have a keen eye for detail I became so stressed and anxious that I really don’t think I ever want to do handmade again, I’d rather just know what I’m buying as it causes me less stress in the long run.

So the argument for getting the 10 diamond version is strong in that it doesn’t scream Cartier (I don’t think) and in some ways is just a diamond bracelet. It’s worth mentioning that I love flush set diamonds. My wedding ring is 12 equally spaced flush set diamonds in platinum so if I were to have a bracelet made the diamond Love bracelet is the sort of look I would go for. Thank you for your really helpful comments and advice and I am thinking it over.

I have the 4 diamond love and I liked how the screw motifs are still there. To me, if I wanted more diamonds, I would rather have a diamond tennis bracelet/bangle.

A tennis bracelet is something I’ve also considered! But I think I prefer the look of the flush set diamonds of the Love bracelet and it’s a little less bling, I’m a jumper and jeans kind of girl. Although a tennis bracelet isn’t too OTT. I worry with a tennis bracelet that it might flip over a lot though. I have a fake one (don’t judge me it was bought for me by my best friend almost 20 years ago when we were young and travelling) and it always flips over. I’m not sure if actual tennis bracelets do that or if the weight holds them down a bit. But I think it would drive me nuts. I have a diamond by the yard bracelet I adore but it always flips over and annoys me!

I have the 10 diamond, and I regret purchasing it. Not so much that I'd sell it at a $4,000 loss, but honestly, it lacks the charm of the classic, or the half-diamond. It's shiny and beautiful in stores but my plain one I had for 11 years made me smile a lot more. I do, however, really like it paired with the 4 diamond, so I added to the equation. I guess I have an expensive way of solving problems ...

Also would like to add that I'm sorry for your loss. Regardless of what piece you decide on, may their memory be a blessing.

I have the classic YG no diamond love and the 10 diamond YG love bracelet. I really love both. The 10 diamond is beautiful yet subtle and I never regretted my decision! Just enough sparkle and still unmistakably Cartier Love even if there are diamonds where screws would be. Whatever you choose remember it should be what speaks to you. Good luck and let us know what you went with!

I really like your problem solving! I hope you’re really happy and enjoying your stack now. I’m still torn but I don’t have to rush I can take some time to think
Thank you for your condolences I do appreciate them

Thank you! I will let you all know what I choose. I’m trying to think hard about what future me will like. I hate being this indecisive. I actually really wish I just liked the plain one. And I do like it but I just know I will only purchase one and do want some sparkle. I’m very annoyed with Cartier for discontinuing the 6 diamond as that was perfect!

I’m really glad to hear that you haven’t regretted your decision in getting a 10. My husband said that as the prices only ever go up it might be sensible to get the 10 now and see how I feel about it in a year or two. If I love it, win. If I’m desperate for the screws too I could maybe trade it in somewhere or sell it and get one with less diamonds. Still not the most cost effective thing to do but probably cheaper in the long run than getting less diamonds now and wanting to trade up. I’ve no idea what I’ll do but it’s great to be able to think over all these options!
