It’s:
  • No COA
  • Final sale
  • Wire transfer only
  • Has 1 slightly loose cabochon ruby
  • I wonder if shipping is still $14.95?!!!
Really, if you are selling a $1,500,000.00 bracelet, shouldn’t you get it fixed first? And much as I consign and buy from TRR, I really don’t think it’s the right venue for the sale. This is the kind of thing that normally sells through the big auction houses.

agree. this should've been brought to at least the VCA Heritage department because, I believe, one-of-one high jewelry pieces, especially those from thematic collections, give VCA the first right of refusal

and then after that maybe Christie's, Sotheby's, or Phillips because it would fetch a lot at auctions.

it is not in the TRR listing but I found the specs of the stones: it's a set of 13 rubies totalling 35.05 carats. 1.5M is a bit on the low side just for that amount of rubies sourced by VCA

the only reason I can think of is the seller's urgency to sell this piece. mama needs cash on the immediate

I’m sure the seller negotiated a deal on the consignment fees for this too. But I’m really doubtful someone on TRR will buy something like this bracelet on the platform. I think TRR sold watches in the $500K range. But this is 3x more than that.

I joked with my VCA SA about this, if I ever buy a $1.5 Million VCA piece, I’m buying it through her!!!

This seems kind of fishy to me; selling a bracelet of this caliber at this price on the real real? With no coa and a shaky stone?
Idk it just raises my suspicions

owner probably thought she didn't have to sell one day and so she was sloppy with the documentation. a one-of-one thematic HJ piece is harder to fake since, well, there's nothing else to copy from, so for me I am not worried about the authenticity. also TRR might have done due diligence because a lawsuit over a $1.5M fake would be catastrophic for them

That makes sense but why not sell through a more reputable place?

high jewelry is very illiquid, especially ruby pieces, since only a few collectors can write a multimillion check for a bracelet. if the seller wants fast cash, consigning to TRR with an aggressive price could move it faster than waiting a year for Sotheby’s or Christie’s

and sometimes sellers need liquidity. divorce, estate settlement, financial pressure, etc. a fast sale at $1.5M may be more valuable to them than waiting months or years to capture the full market value

I appreciate your insight and explanation!
Curious to see how long the bracelet will take to sell on the real real.

What do you think the full market value is of this piece? I am so curious.
