Sooooo I am struggling to finalize the decision between the 0.63 I VVS1 (7.2K) vs the 0.98 H VVS1 (15.6K). My mom prefers something a bit bigger, but is the price jump worth it? For my mom!! She values high clarity because she likes to loupe the stone on her free time. Edit: Almost all the stones she owns are of VVS1 or IF clarity. She said if I wanna do VS2 for her, I might as well go to Costco (since many of their pieces are of good value/I color & typically VS2). She already gifted me a 0.26 carat Tiffany True pendant, so I don’t need another one! Thanks for your input, the price increase is something that’s holding me back.

Yeah these prices are insane…mom’s always wanted a Tiffany diamond solitaire piece, so I got her the 0.63 pendant with her preferred specs of lower color and higher clarity. It’s been over 30 days/altered to extend the chain length to 18 inches, so it can’t be returned. The only thing I can do to increase size is to upgrade (at double the 0.63’s value). If I follow my mom’s preferences of lower color and higher clarity, the minimum value of the new piece would have to be at least 14.4K anyways. So I’m kinda stuck. I can’t return the piece, so I either keep it as is, or upgrade.

Even if I do go minimum color I and at least a 1 carat, VS2, it’ll run me at least 15.2K. This is based off what I could find for rings, but I believe it’s similar pricing for a pendant of same diamond specs.

That’s a great idea! I think the halo might make up for the size difference, especially since I can’t return the 0.63 already. Only option is to upgrade or pick something else…so I’ll see if I can do something for the setting! Thank you
