Enlighten Me...what is this friends/contacts thing?

I am puzzled by the changes in the control panel. Several people have sent me requests to be a friend. I must be getting really old. What is the point? I send forum friends PMs when I need to and I get them, too. So what is the point of having a "friend" or "contact?" And visitor messages...what the heck is that all about? Do all friends as a group see visitor messages like viewing a comment in a blog? The value of all this escapes me. Vlad? Megs? Jill? Somebody?

I'm curious, too. I haven't a clue what the purpose of "friends" is when there are PMs available.

I'm not sure, but maybe your friends list is just like a contact list. It's a faster way to PM them this way. Just go to your friends list, click their username and PM them. Again I'm not sure..just a guess.

Yeah, it would be useful if you tend to PM often with certain individuals.

As random as it is, it kinda is starting to remind me a little of Facebook, with being able to add friends and contacts and what not.....

Its a faster way to PM your regulars in the PF...There is a thread regarding this in the FEEDBACK forum...look there for more advice....!
