Coach newbie--leather question--help please!

:hrmm:Thanks in advance for your help.....

I have a co-worker who is selling the Legacy Leather shoulder bag....she only used it once!

It's beautiful, and I've fallen in love.....but my reluctance is with the vintage leather. How does it hold up? She told me that I shouldn't get it wet.....???? I called Coach and they don't recommend the cleaner or protectant for the vintage leather....I have 2 boys and my life is messy sometimes! Am I going to ruin this bag if I get it????

Will it spot????

Thanks for your help.....I would be sick if I ruined this bag within a few days.
Should I buy???????

Lots of ladies on this board are in looooove with Legacy leather, myself included. It is durable and only gets better with age. Even though Coach does not recommend using any products on it, several of us have had great results with Apple leather conditioner and Wilson's leather protector spray. Both protect the leather from water spotting, and the Apple takes care of any scratches it may have and makes it more scratch resistant for the future.

I would go for it!

Thanks for your help.....I took the check down and I have my new bag! I'll be buying the 2 protectants you recommended. Thanks so much for your help!!!

I've been searching threads and had found the Apple conditioner mentioned several times.....I'm glad to know it works!

If you are a true leather lover, you will LOVE the Legacy bag. It does require a little more care - at least I am a bit more careful with mine. I do Apple condition my Legacy bags, and I try to keep them out of downpours, but other than that I wear them and love them alot! I have that particular bag in two colors, and they have become two of my favorites.

^Apple also makes a rain and stain repellent spray called Apple Gardé. I use it on all of my bags, along with the leather conditioner, and it works great. I highly recommend it! :yes:
