Billie Piper and Laurence Fox walked out of the church as man and wife after an intimate service at their quinessentially English wedding.
The bride arrived five minutes early before the service at 2pm, wearing a low-cut ivory formal wedding dress with a black coat draped over her shoulders. The actress looked stunning as she arrived at the tiny village church of St Mary's in Easebourne, West Sussex, and was greeted by the vicar.
She was accompanied by four bridesmaids in short purple dresses.
Her groom, actor Laurence Fox looked like he had a touch of the wedding nerves as he arrived at church.
The bridegroom arrived at the church 45 minutes before the ceremony was due to start.
Flanked by friends, Fox made the short walk from the White Horse pub to the church past the throng of photographers and reporters. He thanked the photographers who wished him good luck and when asked how he was feeling he replied "very good".
Dr Who star David Tennant, dressed in a flamboyant burgundy velvet suit, arrived at the wedding along with Fox's Lewis co-star Kevin Whately.
The public lining the road cheered as they went into the medieval church.
Chris Evans arrived with his wife Natasha Shishmanian, but then decided to walk across the road to the local pub. Fox's uncle, Edward Fox, also arrived for the ceremony.
The bridegroom's father, James Fox, also waved to the public as he entered the church, followed closely behind by Evans and his wife.
Yesterday, Billie wasn't quite the vision in white expected for a bride when she emerged from the church after the couple's wedding rehearsal.
With her hair down and unkempt and wearing glasses, Billie was not quite wedding-ready. She teamed the unmade look with jeans, trainers and a long baggy wool cardigan. Her future husband, Laurence, wore his red hoodie with a jacket, jeans and Ugg-style boots as they ran through the church service taking place for real today.
Former Doctor Who actress, Piper, will wed fellow actor Fox in the small church at 2pm today.
Their estimated 50 guests will watch them wed before heading to a local pub for the reception and then on to their home for the post-wedding party. Children are not allowed apparently, which has caused consternation among the Fox clan.
Earlier yesterday, the 25-year-old actress took a stroll with Fox to the local supermarket emerging with several bags of shopping.
Their low-key wedding got off to the right start as they filled up at Budgens in Midhurst before meeting up with her first husband.
They followed that with their hour-long rehearsal at the church before having a drink at the pub with Billie's first husband, Chris Evans, and his new wife Natasha Shishmanian. 41-year-old Evans joined his replacement groom, 29-year-old Fox, to sup drinks at their local pub, the White Horse in nearby Midhurst.
Evans and Piper remain firm friends despite divorcing in June of this year. Their marriage started to disintegrate when he decided to treat her to an opulent non-stop holiday lifestyle which she ultimately found unfulfilling.
They had an unconventional wedding in Las Vegas in May 2001, just five months after they first dated.
Then followed a unconventional honeymoon - a hedonistic world tour which lasted 18 months.
But it was during their time away that Piper, a former popstar, apparently got itchy feet and began pining to get back into showbusiness.
Shortly after returning to Britain, she won the part of Doctor Who's sidekick Rose and separated from Evans in the summer of 2005. Piper and Fox have been adamant their wedding will be a strictly private affair and have held talks with police in Midhurst to secure a police presence for the celebration.
The Mail has learned that a team of 10 personal security guards have also been drafted in for the service.
Guests were not told on their invitation where the wedding would be, just that they should leave December 31 free for a ceremony in Sussex.
After the service, there will be a reception at Evans's new £3.2 million farmhouse nearby where he lives with his wife he wed in Portugal in August. Piper fell very swiftly in love with Fox after meeting him in December last year, while they were both rehearsing for the stage show Treats.
Fox moved into Piper's North London flat almost immediately.
By the summer, she was sporting a beautiful antique diamond ring, bought by Fox, who is the son of actor James Fox and nephew of Edward. They then bought a £750,000 cottage in the country, to escape their hectic working lifestyles in London.
