I lovemy Zucca/Nappa Spy from Jomashop! But her leather has always intrigued me. Can her leather be conditioned with Apple Garde Care Conditioner? Why did she have a funny non-leather smell when I first got her from Jomashop? Why does her leather feel soft, yet also feel like it's not really leather? Is it "pebbled" leather as Saks describes it? http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...<>ast_id=1408474395222441&bmUID=1182605281800
Does anyone know the answers to these questions??? If so... please share what you know!
Compared to some of my other bags, especially my Chloes, it's easier to tell if it's calfskin or lambskin because it's either described as one or the other, you can see the grain and you can go a little by feel. And on some store sites only the honey, blueberry and white Spy bags are specifically described as "lambskin." http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/c...00000cat000141cat000143cat9230 740cat9270735
But my Zucca Spy is only described as "Nappa Leather." http://diabro.net/product_info.php/cPath/192_942/products_id/7066
I've read that there are different types of Nappa (aka, Napa): Is it Nappa calfskin? Nappa lambskin? It's definitely not "napped" leather (aka, nubuck) which is skin that has been buffed on the grain side and is soft like suede (which is skin buffed on the flesh side). Therefore it might be fine to condition with Apple Garde.
So after doing some preliminary research, I still don't know if my Zucca Spy has calf or lambskin leather. But using the info from "All About Leather" http://www.all-about-leather.co.uk/allabout/leather/leathertypes.php
I've somewhat concluded that it may be "semi-aniline" with pigmentation, or even "full grain pigmented leather" which might explain the funny non-leather odor (thankfully the smell went away!)
WHAT DO THE REST OF YOU GALS THINK?
