I love the presentation and some of the outfits are very beautiful. Wish they showed off more of the bags! The hardsided metallic shimmery ombre bags are TO DIE FOR!
I wish I could afford hardsided! Haha. The keepall look nice too...

Yes while I appreciate the runway pieces you're totally right in that LV seems to have abandoned classic looks entirely. It's also releasing collections like fast fashion which only the 1% can keep up with...Since they changed from the live events to these pre-recored “short films”, I started to appreciate his work more. Virgil has a few design choices that are deadly sins in my eyes, but generally he really can make exciting stuff that draws attention. Which is good for runway.
I now realised that my main problem with his runway pieces was that Vuitton seemingly doesn’t care about the core collection anymore. Which is not his fault. If they would make all the classics they’re famous for, with new classy iterarions from time to time, I wouldn’t mind the crazy pieces coming from the runway. But since they mostly do only these, and there is a new “drop” (hate that word) every month, while you can’t have a classic PDV anymore… well, then I won’t find that appealing. Marc Jacobs also made crazy and fun designs, but they were the cherry on top, while the cake was made of a classy, timeless product range. Now it is just cherry. And eating only that runs through just as quickly as these drops that become ‘last season’ in a month.
But back to the show: it was interesting that he reinterpreted the same trunk design that Nicolas did a few years ago. And the Nike shoes… I am not a sneaker person, but knowing that the sneaker guys are just as passionate as the Supreme fans and there are way more of them, I feel that this will be a bigger hit than the Supreme collab. Even though I found that a lot more sophisticated.
I feel the same way, but to be honest, I find almost all other hyped sneakers ugly too. That subculture has its own aestheticsThe worst are the Air Force 1s that are made to look like they were bought on Canal Street. I mean, I understand the point...but why? So ugly.
Well, I was pretty deeply involved in sneaker culture for a long time, and I still follow it. Reaction to these from that crowd has been very mixed with a lot of people saying they just look like the cheap made in China bootlegs that have been made for years. Obviously, that's the point of them, but personally, if I'm spending as much on a pair of shoes as these will cost, I'm not spending that money on something that looks cheap.I feel the same way, but to be honest, I find almost all other hyped sneakers ugly too. Thank you. I always love an insider view on this, because I never got the sneaker thing, but I know that it is big and is a serious market. But it is reassuring to hear that even for insiders, these shoes look cheap.Well, I was pretty deeply involved in sneaker culture for a long time, and I still follow it. Plenty of people will still buy these, and they'll fetch a lot on the resale market, but just...no. Gross.
Not really. I think they're mostly just ugly bags that people really only like because they're expensive.Enjoy the colors?
