Vintage Coach Photos & Chat

I do not use any of my 300+ dustbags because I store my bags on shelving in my handbag room. I have several drawers in my guest room full of dustbags. I’m serious! I don’t use them because I wouldn’t be able to find my bags if they were covered and I don’t store my bags anywhere they are even exposed to dust. When I give away a bag I do put it inside one for gifting. Wow! Maybe I should open a Coach dustbag shop. Lol!

I have mine stored in a closet with shelves that now take up basically the whole closet (even the bottom). It is a shrine at this point. I enjoy opening the door and letting their beauty and old leather smell wash over me. I will stand there and just gaze at them like a weirdo. I mean whats the point if you can't do that. I think we should be able admire our hard work and money spending skills.

Good morning! I'm looking for the style name of a vintage bag that does have a creed, but it's the a specific serial number vs. the later 90's one that indicates date, plant, and style number. I posted this bag the Authenticate thread for authentication purposes and it was kindly deemed real (yay!), but do you know where I should post for identification purposes? I'm unsure if it's asking too much of the Authenticate group since they have so many requests and it's no longer a question of authenticity. Its a large portfolio-sized professional bag I'm unfamiliar with. Thanks for any advice!

That’s why I used one of the bag charms @LunaSilver made on my small yellow tote. I’m not as hung up on coach tags. Some bags don’t work as well with them anyway like the bags where the hangtag slides up and down the sewn-on straps because there’s no hardware to attach it to. I like this way better!

That is seriously the cutest. I think I may have to go down the rabbit hole of charms.

 I would replace all my hang tags for those bag charms. So pretty! Where did you buy it from?

I have the same thing. I even like to keep one beside me and just stare at and smoosh and hug them... :hrmm::nuts:

We purchased our stunning tearose charms from TPFer @LunaSilver. She is a wonderful leather worker as well as rehabber and created many beauties. She is taking a break for a few months while she renovates her basement.

I received these yesterday and they may have been her last ones:

Those who have newer bags, what's your ratio of new/vintage wearage?

Eta popped into the London flagship store again today to check out the summer sale pieces in person as well as to see if the manager could find a chalk Cassie 19 for my mother. Absolutely zero left. There are some left in the department stores but not on sale and my mother didn't want it enough to pay more than the summer sale price.

Anyway, I checked out the TINY Originals tray and they were all super cute and leather lined but literally fit NOTHING! I'm a Casino girl but they are like half the Casino's size!!! The size of the turnlock was like the smallest pinch of salt.

I mostly carry bags that I purchased new - or rehabs that were released within the last 10 or 15 years or so - but it varies and I do carry many of my vintage items. And I go out walking the neighborhood almost everyday and my vintage Daypack always comes with me! A lot of my vintage bags are just a little smaller than I prefer.

Interesting - we'll need to see which ones you carry in the BOTD thread more often!!!

I believe your question has been answered? You might want to check back.

Oh, those colors are so beautiful! I wish they made them in sizes that were reasonable at about half the prices they are charging these days.

I carry mostly new bags, meaning any bags that aren't yet 20 years old. I have more than twice as many newish bags than vintage, and several non-Coach bags. I tend to carry the bags I've gotten most recently the most, whether or not they are vintage, but I generally reach for a non-vintage bag most often. Most of my newer bags have more pizazz and better colors than the vintage bags, and are generally more usable in being more comfortable to carry, have more pockets, and hold more.
