Pandora leather question

I recently bought a new Oil Blue Pandora which is sugar goat leather. I liked it so much I bought an preloved purple Pandora from Fashionphile that was also goat leather. However the purple bag is much thinner and softer than the oil blue bag.

My question: Is there often a significant difference in Givenchy bags of the same style and material? Is it a year made or color thing?

I think its just natural variation between skins. I had one in burgundy which was very soft and somewhat thinner, and one in black which was thicker and stiffer. They both wore like iron
