Price is a very personal matter. I can tell you what it’s worth to me. Only you can tell what price is worth it to you.

I don’t think the seller matters as much as getting it authenticated prior to purchase (recommend Etinceler, no financial disclosures); or if they have a generous return policy, then you can always buy the bag, get it authenticated, then figure it all out at that point in time.

I wouldn’t pay that price for that bag. Before our current quaran-times, one of my favorite things to do was to browse the secondhand shops in Tokyo. If I saw this bag for that price there, I would find it overpriced.

Has that been re-dyed?

Something about the texture of the leather, and the color is almost TOO uniform if that makes sense. Esp for 18 years old.

I just bought a black vintage Chanel classic flap from the same era as yours (2001-2003, serial code starts with "7"). It was from a Japanese store and listed in excellent condition with no obvious flaws. It was also for approx 3500USD. It had all its accessories including box, authenticity card, dust bag etc. I noticed that the price drops if its missing some of these things.

Have a look on this website: https://amorevintagejapan.com/ (they are having 10% off at the moment, which covers my custom fees...). I am not associated with this website. You can also look on ebay, there are also Japanese resellers there with nice vintage bags.

Looking through the listings, you'd be hard pressed to find a reasonable lambskin medium flap vintage for $2500USD nowadays. Maybe $3000USD if you're willing to accept some flaws, missing accessories or if you are happy with an even older model from the 90s.
