I read about the same thing in different sources including Dana Thomas's book How Luxury Lost Its Luster. Prada, Burberry and some of McQueen have reputatation of assembling bags in China and finishing in Italy, but nobody's actually proved it. As for Chloe I think they are blatantly honest, they did outsource a lot of production to Bulgaria and Hungary and label bags accordingly.

Everyone should read the book “How luxury lost its luster.” Very informative and highlights the extent of damage caused by knowingly buying a fake bag. Has great talking points for purse aficionados like us on this forum to educate friends and family.
