i was meeting my cousin for brunch last weekend. she was running late so i got out the car to come inside while she dressed. i made myself a cup of oj and plopped down on the couch and grabbed the remote.

i was looking forward to some spongebob - hey, i like spongebob -- when insted i got an eye full of penis and va jay jay.

me thinking: hmmm....interesting

i casually switch to the tv, turning off the dvd setting.

sensing what had happended...and after "hearing" it...(she sure does play it loud) my cousin came flying out of her bedroom, face flushed and said "oh justin was here last night, he likes that, you know"

uh yeah...did this chick forget that i remembered that her fiance was home in IL visiting his rents??

me thinking: suuuurrreeeee :okay:

why are some women so ashamed to admit they watch porn?

Because in this puritanical society, women are torn between this whole Madonna/Whore complex where it's acceptable to admit they like sex, but they're not supposed to admit it too loudly. And they're CERTAINLY not allowed to admit being turned on by anything 'strange' or 'weird.'

How do you know 100% that it was her watching it? :shrugs:

i've known her all my life. ever since we were kids, when she tried to lie...she flushed as red as firetruck and stuttered...even today; never fails!

lol -- she gave away my surprise b-day party two years in a row this way...now NO ONE tells her about surprises because it's so easy to get the answer just be reading her expressions.

she gets it honestly, my aunt is exactly the same way.

I guess for the Ladies who watch it, they may feel it's not accepted as historically women are taught to be demure and to be the ones chased.
Men are accepted as being more sexual w/o being judged unfortunately.

Oh well, for my answer to your question: It's not as accepted in public society as it is for men. A little something I like to call the "double-standard".

Me and my friends were actually just talking about this. I think it's because a lot of porn seems to be MADE for guys, so a lot of women have a hard time fessing up to the fact that they might enjoy it. I think if more 'made for women' porn was produced--as in, less closeup shots of some guys scrotum, less cheesy story lines/music, more sensuality, etc.--people would be more willing to admit to it.

i think shoppingisme is right, porn is mainly made for men and so women feel like they shouldnt be watching it. theres a woman called anna span that makes porn for women but its all really bad.

Yeah, it's still not as "accepted" for women as it is for men. Same with masturbation, you don't hear women openly talking about it the way guys tend to. Kind of sad, really.

Spot on. I guess we're still taught we shouldn't be "whores". Which BTW, watching porn/masturbating doesn't even mean you are.
