Question about Balenciaga hardware

I bought balenciaga small city from my friend yesterday. She claimed that she bought it from balenciaga shop and it from 2018 season. However I wonder that this is giant21 or giant 12 and how can we separate between those two hardware ? and in case that it is giant 21 is it possible to find this hardware in shop since it discontinue in 2012. It's G12 but I wasn't aware there we making ANY giant hardware in the F/W 2018 season. I had an SA tell me last year that it would be continued in limited amounts, others have been told not at all...
