Need help with ring for my girlfriend's birthday

I've been dating my girlfriend for a little over a year and a half, and her birthday is very soon. She has mentioned that she wants a ring (not THAT ring) that she can wear every day to remind herself of me (she will be living 1000 miles away from me for the next 2 years). I would like to try to keep the gift under or right around $300.

I've been looking at some of the "lower level" Yurman and Tiffany, but it seems like all her friends, family, etc. have these already. Is there anything out there nice that isn't quite as popular yet? If not, can you suggest some Yurman, Tiffany, etc. pieces that she might like? She already has one Yurman ring and a Tiffany heart necklace. She is not flashy, and she doesn't wear a lot of jewelry.

I'm completely clueless, so any help is appreciated!

I've been looking at the Tiffany Somsert ring...it's nice, simple, and classy, but it's a bit on the low end. What do you think?

i like the knots one but it looks a little too complicated...like a lot of stuff is going on. what do you think? i think it IS lovely but...the first one that you picked is pretty good....but that's just my taste. you should think of her personality and pick the ring that would match her type.

I'm going to order it sometime tonight. I really like the aquamarine stacking ring but in a square...which they don't have on the website (only have circle). I'm going to call them up and see if they have a square that I can order.
